Hand-to-Hand Karate
Hand-To-Hand Karate is a traditional self-defense style of Karate known for its exceptional application in real-life self-defense situations. The basis of instruction is rooted deeply in Hawaiian Kenpo Karate which is known for its self-defense sets. Students will achieve belt-rankings in Hawaiian Kenpo Karate, while also learning techniques drawn from Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Sensei Ray Stark began his martial arts career in 1984 while in college in Ohio. There, he trained in Hawaiian Kenpo Karate. Then, in 2004, he began training with his son in Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jistu and Hapkido as there were no Hawaiian Kenpo Karate schools on the east coast. In 2009 he earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Serving as the pastor of Gentle Shepherd Church of the Nazarene, Sensei Stark is fulfilling his dream of teaching martial arts in the church as an alternative to those who have the desire to learn, but cannot afford a traditional school.
