Fantastic martial arts for all ages

Both my kids and I are students here. The instructors are fantastic; patient but also good about pushing you to be your best. Great Way Chinese Martial Arts has a really good mix of the mental and physical aspects of Kung Fu. My son has had karate before at a different place and was indifferent to it, with Great Way, I've seen him transformed. My kids are in soccer, chess club, horseback riding, and music lessons. Kung Fu has become their favorite.

Last summer my son and I were searching for a new martial arts school so I let him try a few and he chose Great Way. We were not interested in a school that was flashy and had the most competitions but one that truly taught the art of self defense, inner strength and character development. I had read the negative reviews but something about them (the spiteful tone?. . . ) made me want to see for myself so I signed him up for the introductory 3 months. Over a year later neither of us has a single complaint about the school and my son has said he never wants to go to another school. I don't know the whole history of White Dragon and how Sifu Keller left but I've heard a bit about it from other long-time students who witnessed this change. It seems to me that rather than Sifu Keller betraying anyone he simply stood up for his beliefs when they diverged from a rigid, established system. This braveness is a quality I would like to see my son develop. I have not seen any sign of "abuse" from Sifu Keller as one reviewer mentioned. He is firm and does not put up with bad behavior which is one of the main reasons I think most parents seek out martial arts training for their children. His family is a joy; happy, enthusiastic and well behaved; often helping out with classes or hanging around the kwoon. I see only signs of an honorable man and a teacher of the highest quality. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Come see for yourself.

A great improvement to the restricted White Dragon Schools

I came to Great Way from White Dragon to receive a better, more in depth martial arts education. I am happy to say thats exactly what I have found learning from Sifu Keller! He is a great and humble man and he will not hesitate to help you through your training and your life. Being a Kung Fu instructor myself for roughly 6 years now, his endless experience and knowledge never fails to impress me! If you're looking for a quality, traditional, family based school, give Great Way a try! No controlling contracts or restricted growth opportunities. Just Kung Fu, Family, Friends and an amazing experience that will strengthen you inside and out!

The Great Way... take a detour

Aug 14 2013 by Martial Art (Former Student with 10+ Years Experience at this school)

No!

Is his teaching good? Is he a good practitioner? Being that all of these skills came from his teacher and Pai Lum, yes, but something is different.

On his website, there is a tab that says "about us". Click on it. The entire page is dedicated to Sifu Keller. What happened to "us"?

The great way seems to not be so much of a martial art as the martial art he teaches already has a name, Pai Lum. No, the great way seems to be Sifu Keller.

Unfortunately, this man is confused. He promotes unity, yet he separates himself from his former senor students and teacher. He betrayed them and then waits for them to come to him to make peace? He promotes humility and respect (characteristic of true traditional martial arts) and at the same time The Great Way is set up so all the attention, credit, and money goes to him.

If you check out the Pai Lum (White Dragon) website for Colorado, one of the greatest teachers of our current day is hardly seen, let alone boastfully talked about. That's because it is not about him, it is about the art, and more importantly, it is about the students. This site itself is humble, a reflection of the mentality it portrays.

For those of you that go to learn from him, know that this is a confused man. If you do not care about that then that is okay, best of luck, Pai Lum is an awesome art and he can teach you some of it (not all because he never really practiced and got good enough to learn it all). But, down the road, you may see a repeat of what I saw when I trained with him. He cares for now, makes you feel good, as he did to me and many others, but his true colors will shine.

I could go into detail about what those colors look like (mental and physical abuse), but I won't, because it wouldn't matter. You have to make up your mind for yourself.

But do know, if you want to learn the true complete art of Pai Lum in it's full complete form, this man cannot take you there. Also, find out what the Prayer of Master Ching says, a Pai Lum pillar. You will see how far this man is from The Great Way.

Best of luck to you!

Kung Fu at its finest, with and Exempalry Teacher

I personally trained with Sifu Keller for a short duration while he was with Whire Dragon and have nothing but respect for this man. Knowing that Sifu Keller has opened a new school makes me proud. Kung Fu or any martial art for that matter is not about rank, status, uniforms or shelling out as much money as you can to fill the "Masters" pockets. It's about mind, body and soul. If you are training under Keller consider yourself lucky, this man is a true martial artist and mentor. To all White Dragons who have disasscoiated themselves from Sifu Keller should be ashamed, this man taught you all that you know. Discontiue bad mouthing his personal choices and show some self respect.

Before you make snap judgments upon what other reviewers write, you should really stop by the school and check it out for yourself. They have many families that send their children to the school to learn self defense in a fun and safe environment. In some cases the parents have also joined, which develops a reinforcement of the technique for both parent and child alike. The only way to truly get a feel for the school is to experience it for yourself. If you want to know more about the school, you can also stop by and chat with the other parents and adults and see why they have chosen this school over the many others in town.

Great instruction, welcoming atmosphere, and an teacher with over 25 years of martial arts experience! Affordable for both adults and children. My family and I have been studying here for over a year, and have never even considered going anywhere else. Whether you are seeking to continue your martial training, or have never stepped foot into a Kwoon, this is the place to be. Expand not only your body but your mind as well. See you there.

CHANGE IS GREAT

I am a student of Great Way Martial Arts (previously known as white dragon martial arts) everything has changed for the better. Great Way is a true Kung Fu comunity that incorporates mind, body and spirit. Althought the transition from White Dragon to Great Way hasn't been easy fo some, SiFu Keller has maintained his integrity and dedication to the art of Kung Fu. That's what has always made him such a great teacher. I thought that WD knew the true concept of Kung Fu. They are being mis-lead. SiFu Keller teaches respect, honesty, and itegrity to his students, no matter what path they have chosen. If you want to learn Kung Fu/Tai Chi in a great family enviorment, for a reasonable price, that has high content and positive energy... come in and check us out. : )

This is an amazing place to learn! This school is perfect for everyone who wants an inviting, personal experience. The instructor is knowledgeable, and really knows what he's doing! He has been teaching for 20+ years..in fact I used to train with him over 15 years ago! Now the same instructor is teaching one of my children...and I love that! You know a good school when generation after generation get to benefit from it's teachings!

THANK YOU GREAT WAY FOR YOUR HONESTY AND INTEGRITY!!!

GREAT SCHOOL! AMAZING TEACHER!

Sifu Keller is an amazing Kung Fu teacher who has been training and teaching traditional Kung Fu for 20+ years! I know him from his teaching in White Dragon Kung Fu and he has always been a highly respected teacher and practitioner! For whatever reason he decided to separate himself from White Dragon but THAT DOES NOT MAKE HIM ANY LESS OF A TEACHER OR A PERSON! He simply decided to take his own path. Anyone from his former organization talking harshly about him should be ashamed to call themselves a White Dragon Practitioner! Everyone is entitled to their own path and journey, for anyone to judge someone else because their path may be different is WRONG! That kind of idea is NOT White Dragon and it is not anyone’s right to decide anyone else’s life choices. Sifu Keller has and always will be a GREAT teacher. It was not the White Dragon name that made him so but the kind, caring and experienced individual he has created himself to be. You will not regret visiting his school and I can assure you, Kung Fu training from Sifu Keller is sure to be some of the best in the state!

I joined this school at the right time. The changes that have been made to the school are for the better. I could not be more pleased with my instruction and have the utmost respect for my teacher, Sifu Keller. Sometimes people need to make changes in their lives that are more in line with their higher purpose, goals, values, and morals. People that hate on others for doing so are immature hypocrites and have forgotten the principles of Kung Fu. Yes, see for yourself! Have a conversation or take a private lesson from whomever you are looking to learn from.

I am confused why this school changed its name and dropped its multi-year affiliation with the highly respected Pai Lum Colorado organization, which is how I know of this school. This school used to be the location of rank tests for the Pai Lum organization and I was under the impression (though not certain) that the owner was a highly respected practitioner of Pai Lum. I'm curious that if he was indeed respected within Pai Lum why he no longer seems to be affiliated. As a martial arts practicioner who has been disappointed by some schools in the past, I encourage all perspective students to seek as much knowledge and history as possible about the instructor they are paying and trusting to teach them a worthy and effective art form. Find out first if the instructor is legite then make an informed decision. Good luck in your training.
