Grand Rapids Aikikai, Kyodeikan Dojo

Grand Rapids Aikikai is a member dojo of Birankai North America, founded by T.K Chiba Shihan. We are affiliated with Aikido World Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan.

D.Mata Sensei is our Chief Instructor. Mata Sensei is a 4 Dan, Certified Teacher with Birankai North America. He has been training in Aikido for over 20 years and has been a professional, full time Aikido teacher since 2010. Mata Sensei is a former U.S. Marine and a retired Michigan State Police Trooper.

The Grand Rapids Aikikai trains at the Kyoseikan Dojo located downtown Grand Rapids. We offer Uchidesho Training, beginners and advanced Aikido, Youth Aikido, Aikido for teens, private lessons and many other programs.
