Genbu Kai of Virginia

We have been training Hampton Roads students in traditional Japanese karate since 2000, instilling confidence and discipline, improving fitness and flexibility, and providing self-defense skills.

Genbu-Kai of Virginia studies Shito-Ryu style of karate and is an affiliate of Genbu-Kai International, headquartered in Santa Ana, California, founded and led by Shihan

Our instructor, Mr. Andre Serrette has been a student of karate since 1969. A fourth degree black belt, he initially earned a black belt in shotokan prior to evolving to the Shito-Ryu style.
