There are literally dozens of martial arts schools in San Francisco where you could learn self defense, diet, exercise and fitness. Many of them excel in their craft, as does Grand Master Brian Kula Fung.
I did much of my growing in Kula’s dojo and I learned how to push on to seek excellence. I learned how to concentrate, mentally focus and study. I learned how to train, stay fit and injury free. Most importantly, GM Fung also possesses a special gift to teach Honor, Respect, Advocacy and Self Confidence. These are all life lessons I learned with GM Fung as a youngster and now utilize daily with family, work, and play.
I would highly encourage anybody interested in learning martial arts to study with GM Fung and I’m sure you’ll become a stronger person as well.

I've been training with Kumu Brian Kula Fung for over 12 years now. Besides teaching me self-defense, my training has completely changed the way I use my body and approach challenges in other aspects of my life.
In addition to solid martial arts training, Kumu Fung's classes teach focus, determination, respect and kindness. His style of Hawaiian kenpo is a unique blend that you won't find anywhere else. Both an art and a sport, it will train your body and mind. Classes are rigorous and fun!

The wealth of knowledge and legacy at this jewel of a dojo is remarkable. You'd be hard pressed to find another teacher as dedicated to martial arts and fitness as Kumu Brian Kula Fung. I personally enjoy being able to learn multiple styles as well as general strength training that helps improve my overall fitness level. Even after 6 years of training, Kumu's personalized training and depth of knowledge keeps me challenged.
Whether you are a beginner or master, you will learn, be challenged and have fun!

My 10 year old son has been going Fung Ohana for about a year and a half now. He enjoys the family/community feel that the dojo offers. Grandmaster Brain Kula Fung demands excellence and gets it from all his students. At my boys first tournament, all participants from Fung Ohana place first in their events! It's a great group of teachers and students.

I came back to the martial arts and this school after a 33 year layoff after raising my family. I had gained a lot of weight and was out of shape. After 4 months of vigorous workouts and intense training, I have lost 18 pounds, gained endurance, feel much more energized and in condition, and am ready for further improvement. Kumu Fung provided nutritional guidance as well, to help me lose the weight. He brings his own particular brand of motivation to help you achieve your goals. In my case, I know I could not have done it on my own. Highly recommended, but as with all things, results will depend on your willingness to put the work in and apply yourself.

My 12 year old daughter is having great time there. She even decided to go twice a week now!
This guy is a chronic liar. He goes around showing people picture of a child doing a Kata at tournament saying that it's him as a junior champion. Which are lies the kid is not him. He may have gotten some type of Soke certificate but all people in martial arts know that you pay for that. He took martial arts and San Francisco under Wong karate kung fu was kicked out as a blue belt. After that he went around lying for years saying that jeff wong give him a black belt and a second degree which it never happened. This guy needs to come clean on everything that he has written on Facebook everything that's public he needs to change pictures saying that he received an award from Wally Jay he didn't. That he entered 1968 Internationals a lie. CKC was held in S. F. never took grand champion. Would I trust him with my kids he'll no. I want my kids to grow up and be honest. He never was busted for lying because no one really new his back ground. Lately I've been texted and emailed asking about him. The people that were trying get him for lying couldn't find anyone who would stand up. Will lucky me I'm the one that is going to make sure he stops his lying. You can blocked my name on fb but that won't stop me from telling the truth. And your not Hawaiian! Hawaiians don't like people lying about, you can get your butt kick from a true Hawaiian. You can ran and hide but I will continue blasting you until you come clean.
