I just recently started Karate again, I used to do it at my kids old school. My children go here now and now I am. I had reservations because I have osteoarthritis throughout my body from my neck to my toes was worried that I would not be able to do it. I did the class last night and felt like I haven't felt in a long time alive. My joints haven't felt loose in a long time. I won't lie it did hurt a little when we first started but the more they had me moving the more my joints loosing up. I have mention in previous reviews about my children taking class here because these instructors are not only excellent instructors, they are also patient and caring. Grand Master Pierce, Sensai Kim Harrold, Sensai Hunt and the rest are very good at what they do and are willing to work with you every step of the way. I know they have had a lot of patience with my children and my kids enjoy it. I enjoyed it as well last night it was hard work but It was good work. I would recommend this dojo for anybody who has arthritis because it will help. I am glad I started up again and will enjoy it for a long time.

Our family has known the staff at Full Circle Martial Arts Academy for over 5 years now and they have helped our son, Tyler, become the black belt that he is today. Tyler hated to spar with the other kids in his class when he was younger, and would become upset and "sick" everytime he had to spar. Through patience and encouragement, Sensei Kim and Master Pierce have taught him techniques to use and over come his fear. There is no doubt that these instructors not only care about these kids as students but care about them like their own children. Not only do they want them to succeed as martial artists but succeed in all aspects of their lives as well. We are very proud to say our son is a part of the FCMAA family.

Our grandson has been in Karate for almost three years. He has been getting private lessons from Master Pierce the entire time. He truly has helped him to be more confident in all the things he does. Full Circle is the best Dojo around in my opinion. It has a lot of talent, experience and just really great people. I recommend it highly!

Well where do I begin? I am truly blessed to have the honor to be around my Senseis that make me feel like I'm apart of a family. I can never repay them for all the time that they have invested in me on helping me reach my goals.
Even when I'm frustrated with my short comings they never give up on me and that means the world to me. I can never repay them back for everything they have done for me... I am forever grateful.

Four years ago my daughter was 4 years old and I started to look around for a DoJO for her to take karate. Having done martial arts as a teenager I was aware of the benefits of doing it. Over the last four years of doing karate my daughter has transition into being more assertive, more confident, and more respectful. She has grown into such amazing child and is now a purple belt. I also have my son in the little dragons since the age of 3 years old. He too is starting to develop some of the same qualities. Inspired by my children I decided I too would start the hard road of getting back in shape and working on myself. Therefore, I enrolled in the adult class and now have a blue belt myself.
The team of staff are more than instructors here. They have become friends, and family over the years. I have never had a place more willing to look out and keep my children safe and teach them how to protect themselves. Although, they demand respect and will push you to be the best you can be, they will also be there to cheer you along the way, support you, and will be the soft place for you to fall. I would highly recommend this DoJO. Don't be afraid to try and accomplish goals you have in life no matter how little or old you are. Its never to late!

Kim has been doing karate since 2005 and is a second degree black belt. It's pretty sad that your calling your self a martial artists and your on here portraying no qualities that make a great karate competitor. It also appears that you do not have your facts straight. If you want to continue to lie about these great people at full circle go ahead but why don't you stop being a coward and let us all know your identity so maybe we can fix the issue. As for as belittling I left my last school due to that and have never once felt that at fcma. There is a peace and a calm and a family there.

First off...Kim ha not even been in karate for 8 years...if she has then that means she has lied to me and my kids...not a trait I would want my kids to follow...also the school hasn't even been open a year it has been open no more than two months...so please get your facts straight before you accuse me of not knowing what I am talking about...and finally...have I or my kids been to group classes....no...and I never said that I did...but their are however private lessons...so again please understand that just because you have not seen me in a group setting it doesn't mean that I don't have experience with the so called instructors

I am a parent my two kids have been with Master Tom Pierce and Sensei Kim for 8 years. They are tough instructors and very knowledgeable I don't know who wrote that bad review but I have not seen anybody new come to this school that hasn't been there for at least a year there is one and he is still going. So this person has not told the truth and hasn't been to this school. I am very pleased with this Dojo the atmosphere is very relaxing and clean facility. The instructors are very knowledgeable and experience. They have a lot of experience between them. They have help my kids overcome a lot. They are both shy and try to hide in the background these instructors not only teach them self defense they also help them improve their confidence and self esteem. My kids are learning to speak in front of the class and are speaking louder each time before they would only be a squeak of a voice, I would recommend this school for anybody who cares for their kids and want to improve their lives and learn self-defense.

This school is an absolute sham....the instructors have no idea of what they are doing....I honestly think they make up half the stuff the "teach". The instructors have no clue...very little experience...and have no honor or charchter....so If you want you or your children to constantly be belittled...have their self-esteem and self- worth destroyed and waste your money...then by all means visit this so called dojo....there are a couple of other karate schools in newark....any one of them would be better....I think I leaned more in my high school gym class than here...

I cannot say enough about the instructors, they are a wonderful group with a completely different way of teaching each and every student they come in contact with. Head instructor Master Tom Pierce, Master Dan Hunt, Sensei Kim and the rest of the Sensei's all bring a different quality to the teaching floor. I came with this group from the last dojo, following them was a priveledge. I hope some day to be able to stand beside them as a black belt,. To be able to say I earned my Black Belt from Master Tom Pierce will be an honor!

Our son has been with Sensei Kim for a year and a half now. We started with her at his daycare facility and all the way to the new Dojo. She and Master Pierce have made us feel like we are family and truly care about our child. Our son has a mild case of Cerebral Palsy and she has worked with him diligently keeping with the same activities as our Physical Therapist. He has improved tremendously in such a short amount of time. He is becoming less shy around other kids and more confident in the things he does. If you are looking for a place to to start your child in learning Karate, I highly recommend "Full Circle" you will NOT be disappointed.

My child has been with the Sensei's since about 3 starting as a Lil Dragon with Sensei Kim and we followed them to their new dojo when they opened. If you are looking for a place that not only will help with discipline but will make you feel like you are a part of a family stop looking. You found your home.
The Sensei's all bring something different to the table, with their own unique style of teaching.

I have two children that goes to this Dojo they have been with these Sensais for 7 years. We followed them to the new Dojo they opened up. They care about your children they have help my children. My kids have matured a lot and have grown both physically and emotionally they are more confident about what they can do and are braver at trying new things. They used to not let themselves be notice by anyone but now they are no longer in the shadows but are standing proud and tall. They are also very capable of defending themselves in this crazy world. They can now take me down I am twice their weight and they can put me to the ground. I am very happy to know these Quality Sensais they are the best when it comes to teaching the children martial arts but they are also the most caring Sensais. They want your children to succeed in life and will help them succeed. Thank You Full Circle Martial Arts

These are some of the most kind hearted loving instructors I have ever met. Their loyalty to their students goes above and beyond. It isn't a school it's a family.
After being out of formal in class Karate training for many years I decided to refocus my traning and joind Full Circle Martial Arts Academy. The staff is extremely skilled at helping students at any level/ability. Their instruction is top notich and in only a few classes they helped me to correct several years of bad habits that were formed in years of self practice.
In addidtion to great instruction the Dojo is clean, spacious and well organized. In addition to the great Staff the students exhibit a great deal of chracter and willingness to welcome new students.
Anyone with a desire to practice martial arts should higly consider this school... especially if you are live or work near this school.
