Guro Ilan offers training in close quarter no nonsense self defense for men and women who want to learn how to protect themselves in today’s world in a safe and supervised environment.
Our system is a Filipino close quarter combat systems taught by Guro Ilan Srulovicz
It is comprised of Eskrima (stick / knife fighting), Eskrido. (stick grappling and throwing) Pangamut (empty hand fighting) – Dumog (grappling and submission fighting).
The system is built on the foundation of the following systems:
Doce Pares and Ilustrisimo Kali (filipino systems covering the above), Kuntao Silat (a devastating close quarter Indonesian fighting system), Muay Thai (a Thai competitive kickboxing style that emphasizes knees and elbows and clinching), Brazilian jiujitsu (a ground fighting system that utilizes position and submission to control an opponent).
Broken down the system is comprised of Stick fighting, knife fighting, empty hand fighting and grappling. All work in conjunction with each other and are meant to compliment one another. When you learn the stick you are learning how to use a knife as well as your hands.
