Taijiquan’s push-hands training (tui shou) was developed as a method for learning and improving ones understanding of the principles that underlie this art. It is not fighting, although it trains principles that may be applied to fighting. Sensitivity (especially through the sense of touch) is emphasized.
Push-hands skills involve connecting with incoming energy or force, and understanding it and controlling it without directly opposing it.
The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at Entwined Dragons Taijiquan:
Classes in interactive Taijiquan (push-hands) are offered in the Joy of Movement studio in the Chatham Mills building (on Highway 15-501) on Sundays from 3:00 - 4:30 PM (check class schedule at http://www.thejoyofmovementcm.com/calendar.html).
