Enmei Dojo
Aikido is a martial art developed to be more appropriate for the modern world. We have fewer injuries than major sports, and practice year round. Nevertheless, it is a highly effective method of self defense, providing many options, allowing injury to the attacker to be minimized.
We practice traditional aikido, close in style to Aikikai aikido. The style can be quite vigorous for higher ranks, though we introduce beginners gradually to the more demanding ukemi (breakfalls). We train with the jo, bokken, and tanto, as well as empty-hand techniques.
