have been a long time student of this studio & now my kids train here. Since Covid, this studio has been careful to clean and watch contact. Now the school is back to normal! Students are taught discipline, self control and confidence. I am so happy with Mr Eldred and his family teaching classes. Great choice for a studio

I have trained here for several years at Eldred's & there have never been any hidden fees or scams. Mind you that the other review was by someone NOT training at the studio but at a discounted program at the Boys & Girls Club. There have always been fees for testing & tournaments. Nothing magically is raised in price. I feel that there must have been a miscommunication with the previous reviewer. How do you expect a business to stay open if it gives everything away for free? Mr. Eldred & his staff always have the students best interest at heart & I have always found Mr. Eldred to be very kind & concerned with any of his students. Yes, I train at a black belt school where things are earned and not just handed to you. I am proud of my accomplishments at this studio under Mr. Eldred's leadership. His knowledge is great & well as his instructors. By the way, Mr. Eldred has FREE events & activities at his studio quite often. This is a wonderful FAMILY atmosphere!

No!

Myself and many others are quite upset with this dojo. Aside from the lead instructor Mr. Eldrid constant pompous attitude and being short tempered with the children. And aside from his lack of concern for the children's safety, (We witnessed the owner get an attitude with a junior black belt instructor for taking off the children's newly awarded medals prior sparring matches because in Eldrids opinion it was taking too much time. Despite the jr instructor explaining that the medals could get caught or hit the child in the eye while sparring Mr Eldrid disregarded his staff's warnings and had the children spar anyways.) It is the sketchiness and financial scamming you should be concerned about. Each time an event (tournaments and testing) came up the prices for each would magically jump up the day of the event. But by far the BIGGEST ISSUE OF ALL is the fact that this dojo hooked up with the Boys and Girls club of Escondido offering training at the club for a set price. After enrolling about 40 children and two months of training later, once the children had there first belts and had become committed and attached to the training, the price for the training each month had gone up as well, and get this by DOUBLE. They doubled the price! Wow! What a clever scam. Enroll a bunch of kids, get them amped and committed to your program and then double the price. What are the parents going to do? (Mind you most parents in this community dont have extra money to be able to kick in with two weeks notice.) Disenroll their children from something they just fell in love with and that is good for them? When asked why the prices went up Eldrid stated he needed to pay the staff better and purchase new equipment. I didnt know plywood boards were so expensive. He also chalked it up and apologized for his lack of fiscal foresight. This is someone who preaches to the children ethics and responsibility. If anything else, my children were disenrolled because they WILL NOT be taught by someone (Who if best case scenario is not running a scheme right now) is that fiscally irresponsible to see that in a matter of two months he would have to double prices in order to keep his business afloat. Bottom line stay away from this guy.
