Dishonest and unscrupulous...

...simple as that. Matt Numrich (owner), agreed to cancel our daughter's membership due to extenuating circumstances (she was struggling following a death in the family), but failed to cancel the automatic debits from my checking account and has subsequently failed to refund the money (over $500). He agreed in writing to cancel the membership, continued to take money and has failed to pay me back. That is theft!!! I have sent many emails over several months and all I get are lame excuses for why he hasn't refunded my money. All he had to do was honor his own agreement and refund the money. I would have understood a clerical error that resulted in the continued debits, but there is NO EXCUSE for failing to refund the money. Think twice about this before you enter into a membership... Is this the kind of person who will teach your child respect for others? Unlikely!!

The real thing.

I'm not sure what the other guy was talking about, but this place is the real thing for martial arts and self defense. It certainly is not a black belt factory and it is intense from day one. Weapons, ground standing..it is full on at the first class.

Jeet Kune Do(n't)

Moved here from Los Angeles a few months ago and took my son to check this place out because it's almost right across the street from us and I gave it a shot also. I've been studying martial arts my whole life, including Jeet Kune Do, and this place doesn't even resemble the real JKD I've trained. The class was pretty fun and the exercise was intense but it seems the class is designed to be more for people trying to lose weight than learn the actual art of JKD. I'm 45, fat as hell, and my cardio is horrible being a smoker and all, but I feel you don't need great cardio to be able to defend yourself properly. The instructors had me doing exercises that almost put me in a hospital. It's a good place to shed some pounds, learn martial arts basics, and weapons disarming, but for real JKD... I would go somewhere else.
