A great place to train and learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Shon Foreman is an excellent instructor who is patient and willing to go above and beyond to train and support his students. With no attitudes or egos to put up with East Texas BJJ is the place to go for fun or competition. No other place in Texarkana compares.

I've been training here for a while now and it is by far nowhere comparable to any other school. Everyone here is friendly and eager to help one another. The instruction is simple and to the point and very professional. I'll never train anywhere else and I'd recommend ETBJJ to anyone!

As a BJJ instructor and practitioner, I highly recommend Shon Foreman' program at East Texas BJJ. Shon has invested a considerable amount of time in his own training and knowledge and continues to do so. This is one of the defining characteristics of an excellent instructor. Being that he continues to invest in himself, he will be able to continue to offer his students the latest, most up to date training methodologies out there! His passion for BJJ is evident.

Shon is a knowledgeable caring instructor who focuses on the basics of BJJ in order to develop his students. I personally trained with him for a period of two years, and could not give him a higher recomendation. If your interested in learning BJJ in a egoless eniviroment, East Texas BJJ is the place for you to build a foundation in the gentle art.

When we first discussed moving to Texarkana, we immediately started looking for a BJJ school. We did find another BJJ school in Texarkana; but to be completely honest, it wasn't affordable for us and we gave up. When we heard about classes being held at East Texas BJJ, we went to check it out. What we found was chance to pursue martial arts together. The owner, Mr. Gary Jones, put together a family plan for us so that we ALL could participate in both the Taekwondo and the Brazilian JiuJitsu programs. Our BJJ instructor, Mr. Shon Foreman, has been wonderfully flexible with our schedules, holding make-up/open mat classes for us and ensures we get the best training opportunities available- to include traveling to a sister school for world-class seminars, classes and competitions. Mr. Jones is a great teacher, especially with the kids- he is strict with the them, but offers humor and attention that makes them want to work hard for his respect. We have been with Mr. Jones and Mr. Foreman for almost a year now and consider ourselves incredibly lucky to be with their dojo.
learned more here in 1 class than i did at my past school in 6 months. for a lot less money.
