Coming into this place, I was a little apprehensive, seeing as how I was new to the town/area and it had been years since training last. I came in and immediately was greeted and asked to join in on class.
The classes are great. You get a lot of one on one attention and it is like being part of a family. They really hone in polishing every movement, strike, your body posture. It's great because it allows you to really feel like you're at your top game of training.
The prices are great too. Seriously.

A close friend of mine had been nagging me to join this school, where she has been going for over 2 years. I finally gave in, and boy, am I glad I did. Masters Phil, Tony and Gary are very good and experienced instructors, and are good with children and adults alike. It's amazing how I can come here after a stressful day of work, sweat it out and leave too exhausted to be stressed. I've made some very good friends here as well, it's almost like a family. And for the younger ones, the instructors have begun to give short lessons between drills about things like motivation and imagination, to help the kids learn about goals and positive reinforcement. The instructors aren't pushy about promoting, and would prefer you get it right before getting it fast. Something for everyone here, and I am very satisfied after a year and a half of training.
I have been attending classes at DesPlaines Martial Arts, with my husband and son for over a year now and we are very satisfied with the classes. All 3 Master instructors run excellent classes & help each student to learn according to their ability. Where other martial arts schools push you to promote too quickly for excessive fees, this school works to increase your skills & abilities. Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Gumdo are all offered, so a student can choose which one (if not all) as he/she prefers. Also, one on one personal instruction is also offered at no extra charge which I find invaluable. The prices are very reasonable and I would recommend to anyone to try this school out. You will not be disappointed.
