Reviews of D Keller's Jkd School-Martial

I first met Duane Keller in August 2003, when I moved to Florida. I started taking martial arts lessons with him on and off for the for the next several years, and it has been one of the most cathartic and life changing journeys I have ever had the privilege of experiencing. From a self defense perspective, the techniques I learned were effective and something that have been so ingrained in me that I will fortunately never be able to forget them. From a spiritual point of view, Sifu is someone that makes you look inside yourself. It's not about belt rankings with him (he used to famously say belts are only made to hold up your pants). He challenged his students every day to find the greater good in life- being a good son, friend, mom, dad, etc- most importantly seeking a relationship with Christ. It's been over 8 years since I've seen him, but I remember him and his teachings every day. He is a rarity in humans nowadays. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please post on here. No other school is or was like this. I was at an all time low on my life suffering from major depression and anxiety when I met Sifu Duane Keller and started with his WMA School of martial arts back at the old Citrus Health Club of Inverness in April of 1994. I became more confident in myself. I earned my black belt in November of 1995. No other martial arts school I've been to yet has captured my interest as this one has. ..not even close. It's a shame it's gone now. I recently got out of the Army on disability and moved back to the area. Everytime I drive past there I remember the good times.

It has been over ten years since my son was a student with Sifu. Their is not a day that goes by that all the wisdom, self worth, love, and all the knowledge he has passed down to my son and I . He also taught my son to be humble and to know humility along with how awesome of a Martial Artist my son is. He teaches you to love your family and to take the responsibility of your own actions. As a mother I can not thank him enough for all he has taught the both of us. He will work you out till you think you can not go on, only to show you that you can, that you have it in you. My son went to other Martial Art Schools and received many Black Belts. He told me the only one he feels like he really earned and that meant anything is his Black Belt he received from Sifu. I remember to this day at the end of his testing for his Black Belt, Sifu layed it on the floor in front of him. He told him he does not give away Black Belts to pick it up as he earned it!!!! So if you or one of your loved ones wants a true Martial Art Teacher who not only will make you grow as a student but as an individual, then this school is meant for you. My son has become a very talented and humble person, whom I am very proud of. Thank you Sifu for all the time and love you have shared with all who have had the pleasure of knowing you!!! P. S. he even got my son ready for the JR> OLYMPICS as the other school he was attending was not . Sifu wanted him to succeed as a Martial Artist and as an individual. ..
