This is not a "school" per say. It is a non-commercial, private, invitation-only ADULTS ONLY martial arts "club" that meets in the Beverly Park area. No calls please, email only. Please don't hesitate to contact us, as we welcome all inquiries and questions! Our sessions typically attract advanced or instructor level practitioners, but we welcome inquires from total beginners. However, be advised that this club is not currently meeting, but has plans to resume in March of 2018.
Hapkido is a traditional martial art that includes strikes, kicks, sweeps, joint-locks and throws, as well as traditional breathing and relaxation exercises. Hapkido was created from Japanese, Korean, and Chinese martial arts in South Korea in the years after the Second World War.
Although this is a traditional art, there is a relaxed, mature practice style and instructors and students are on a first name basis. (By "traditional" we that we practice punching, kicking, sweeping, and throwing each other with resistance). We also have a "use whatever works" attitude and many techniques are borrowed from western boxing or kickboxing. However, we trace our lineage directly back to Dojunim Choi, Yong Sul, the founder of Hapkido.
We are connected to the United Hapkido Federation and the Korea Kido Association
