I have been here for 2 years and love it. The people here are great and you could not ask for a better teacher as he takes his time to explain everything and his teachings are excellent. We not only have class but on some week-end classes we go out to lunch and just sit and talk and enjoy ourselves. We have visitors from other do-jo's visit and we practice with them and they are all a great bunch of people. When we have tournaments it is super great and we meet other kendo players from across the southern part and you will not meet a better bunch of people to talk to.
Kendo Is not just the art of learning to fight with our swords but kendo is becoming a family that you can rely on and enjoy hanging out with. Come out and watch a class you will not be disappointed and hope to see you there. We don't care if your 7 or 70 come on out..

There is only one Kendo school near Columbia, SC and this is it. I didn't know what to expect as I went to my first lesson, but I enjoyed it. They give you hands on practice and teach you the essentials in a demanding environment. I hope to be learning from them for a long time.
Kendo (剣道 kendō, lit. "sword way") is a modern Japanese martial art, which descended from swordsmanship (kenjutsu) and uses bamboo swords (shinai) and protective armour (bōgu). Today, it is widely practiced within Japan and many other nations across the world. Kendo is an activity that combines martial arts practices and values with strenuous sport-like physical activity.
