About the art, not the belt. About the person, not the punch.

But when you get the belt, it was earned and when you punch, it has power. I choose to train here because the teaching is authentic. If you want to learn and understand the principles of the art, you will. If you want to get a black belt quickly, you won't. Be flexible in your thinking so you are ready to absorb what is shared here.

The instructor invest in each individual student. They want to help everyone they can and they do whatever it takes to make you happy and self confident. Health is their main philosophy! I have lost weight, lowered my blood pressure and can handle stress in a more relaxed manner. I now live life to the fullest thanks to the wonderful people and instruction at Parker Kung Fu.

Martial Arts Family

I have experience with several schools, both for myself and for my 9 year old daughter. Through the years, I have studied karate, MMA, boxing, BJJ and had my daughter in TKD. After our last school shut down, we tried one TKD school where the approach was definitely a lot of belts, unqualified black belts and money oriented testing fees, contracts, etc. Refusing to accept that or put my daughter into that environment, I kept searching and finally found the School of Chines Martial Arts in Parker. Ever since that first day I walked in, this has been our Martial Arts Family. My daughter has already learned so much in her first two belts and is pushed to learn rather than just pushed to test for a new belt every month or into a 2 year contract. Speaking of contracts, this school doesn't have one because they aren't after you money but want to create a community where you actually feel like you are learning, belong, want to stay and pass it on. This has helped my daughter in so many ways and I know it's the right decision for her.

In addition, I study at the school as well now and can say that for the best balance of traditional CMA and real world application, this school is heads and tails above the rest in the area. They teach several schools of Kung Fu and T'ai Chi but the schedule is structured so that you can choose what you want to focus on and what fits you - Many Trees, One Forest. SiFu Wayne is also not going to waste your time teaching you forms for a decade and waiting until you are in the upper echelon of the belts to disclose the applications and "secrets" behind them. Instead, they are all "paint" as he will tell you and he wants us to understand all the inticacies because you never know when you may benefit from that knowledge and we should always be prepared. Finally, the school is connected to some incredible masters of other systems who regularly visit to pass on their styles and knowledge.

My advice is to check it out and see if it fits you. I know it did for my daughter and for me and I believe you will be happy you did.

I am so comfertable at this school. I can come in after a stressful day and just take a deep breath. T'ai Chi has helped me with by back problems and just learning to relax and let go, which everyone needs to learn. Thank you Shifu for bringing peace back into my life with your great teaching and humor:)

So many so called Kung Fu schools just want to keep testing you to suck money out of bank. Not here! I've been training for over 23 years and let me tell you, this school is the real deal! No Gimmicks just real self-defense, application and good people to train with. Thank you for a excellent school.

With a wide variety of arts to choose from and guest Sifus the school is alive with fresh ideas. You also feel like there is a good bond between students and Sifu not the cold shoulder you can get from hard core traditional schools.

Great school, you will learn A LOT!

This is a great school. Classes can vary in what particular technique is taught each night, but the particular style (such as White Crane) is done on a set schedule. If you don't understand the technique SiFu is more than happy to try to explain it better and while he's at it, he shows you why it is done. He is also approachable and if you have a concern he will do what he can to address it. There is no pressure to get everything perfect the first try - that's up to you as the student to try to push yourself to get better. Keep in mind with any technique it isn't going to look all that great at first, but it will get better if you make an honest effort and realize this is something that will take years to master. But there is enough variation to keep most people from getting bored and eventually stop going.

So if you want to just go get a black belt from a school that awards it because you spent a lot of time there and it doesn't matter if you can really do a technique very well, this isn't the place for you.

If you want to actually learn how to defend yourself in a friendly helpful environment where everyone wants to learn and put in an honest effort, check them out. It might be a bit less structured than other schools and that's not for everyone. For me though, I love it.

This school is the best! Every where you go in Parker there is nothing but Tao Quan Do. There is no real martial arts in Tao Quan Do. This place has the real stuff, and everyone is supper nice! The instructors are not drill sargents, which I like! I learn something new everytime I come through the door. I don't have to sit in Mabo Stance for 10 years before I get to learn something. What a great asset to the town of Parker!

Lousy dojo

Teacher is all over the place. Teaches knife fighting and flying jump kicks to beginners who can't do a horse stance. Maybe it's a nice place to drop your kids for hyperactive daycare, but if you want to learn solid fundamentals of martial arts go somewhere else.

I have a 12 year old daughter and a 7 year old son that go twice a week for kung fu. They have so much fun here and always look forward to their classes. Everyone is friendly and they have learned so much on how to defend themselves. They both have more confidence than ever. Thank you Shi Fu Wayne and Shi Mei Stacy!
