Charlotte Systema is an outstanding self defense and martial arts training group. The folks are friendly and helpful, the atmosphere inside the Ultimate Gym is outstanding and the training is unlike anything else found in Charlotte. While you probably haven't heard of the Russian Martial Art called Systema it worth checking out first hand. They offer a 2 classes for $20 introduction so it is not expensive to give it a try. Classes are Monday' and Thursdays 6:30-8:00pm, Friday 11am-12:30pm and the first/third Saturday of the month 10am-12:30pm. I hope to see you there.
