Reviews of Chang Karate School

I am Robert Cremeans, currently a 4th Dan master, who began studying under Grand Master Chang, as a white belt, in 1983.

After achieving 1st Dan with Grand Master Chang I move to Colorado and joined a Tang Soo Do school under Master Cordeal Pacheco, a student of Grand Master Chung (an associate of Grand Master Chang)

The techniques brought to Colorado from Chang karate school were so technically proficient Master Pacheco immediately insisted on promoting me to instructor level in both his schools.

Grand Master Chang’s instruction is fundamental in my development as a leader, instructor, and a viable member of my community.

Fear is ego and ego is detrimental to fully realizing ones potential as a human being. Grand Master Chang gave me the strength and courage to examine and conquer those humanly inherent and societal fears that were impeding my development, and though it is a never ending struggle managing the vicissitudes of life, my training enables me to face those challenges without fear.

Martial arts training, and especially Tang Soo Do Mu Duk Kwan, teaches conquering the enemy within. Though we learn to defend ourselves and others through physical training, a greater value is realized In mastering ourselves through continuing education, consistent effort in training of the physical, mental and emotional aspects of human development and challenging our fears.

Though it has been nearly 30 years since leaving Chang Karate School, Grand Master Chang’s instruction and influence remain within, a solid foundation upon which I’ve built my life.

Grand Master Chang’s continued dedication to his art and especially his students development has surely sent highly positive ripples across the face of the sea of humanity, the effects of which are incomprehensible in scope but never the less helping to make humanity greater.
