Capoeira is a Brazilian martial arts that combines elements of dance, acrobatics, music, and Martial Arts into a complete style. We offer contemporary Capoeira which is a fast paced fluid expression of energy and culture.
Gaviaõ (Viceroy Andrews) was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. From the age of 18 he began training martial arts including: Tae Kwon do, Karate (Goju-Ryu), Aikido, and Tai Chi. While attending Tennessee State University (Nashville) he saw a Capoeira demonstration and was immediately hooked. In 2005 Gaviaõ began training under Mestre Curisco while living and working in Washington DC. He is a co-founder and one of the original members of Capoeira Malês DC. Under the guidance of Mestre Curisco Gaviaõ hopes to achieve the same level of growth and success for the Malês family in Los Angeles.
