Real world class martial arts & self defense

This studio has struggled for many reasons throughout it's history but, this is not due to the Instruction or martial arts being taught here. Every studio wants to have a large studio with many students. Students are supposed to work hard, be dedicated, learn/improve and most importantly " attract others to join! I've heard students say that they don't want others to come train! They want it ALL to themselves! Parents and some of the students alike have tried to push themselves and the instructors into advancing them without merit. This is truly a shame. I wish that others could see this martial art, it's instructors and it's Black belts. Compare yourself or other martial arts to this and I know you will understand. We wish them the best of luck and hope their future reflects that they truly are, THE BEST!

Used to think this was a great studio..

The instructor takes all the fun out of it by focusing solely on financial problems. It is one thing to talk to parents about paying dues on time but it is another thing to spend the entire class putting stress on the kids about how they need to pay their dues and buy their equipment through you. Those are problems and stresses that kids dont need and you should never waste the class time they are paying you for talking to them about things they have no control over. Take more time focusing on all of your students, girls and boys alike (believe it or not they are equal and deserve to be treated as so), listen to what they have to say and never compare one student to another as better or more talented, everyone works very hard to learn this art and deserves the time and attention they are paying for.

stopped going because it became less about the kids and the art and more about the instructors problems. Just being honest!

catkd teaches both kids and adults and teaches respect and self confidence. This studio has great instructors and amazing students. As an adult who trains with this studio i think it is a great place, i don't feel funny or weird training with kids who are a higher belt rank than i am because there are 3 class sections, kids beginner class, kids advanced class, and an adult class. It really is a great place to go and the people there are friendly and great to be around. Plus they give you a 2 week free trial and there are no contracts!! Cant beat it :)

One BIG problem

No!

One BIG problem I had with this school is that the owner announces that he does not have enough money to keep the school opened and he continues to loose money every month. We all have our own financial problems. Please don't announce that to your students and expect new people to stay. No way to run a business!
