I have joined several other gyms looking for a great trainer and a comfortable environment in the past. Once I joined C3 it was everything I was looking for!!! You can't imagine how excited and thrilled I was to finally find it. I have been a member there since 2010. They have a great Bjj class and the trainer Cesar is by far an exceptional trainer. He assures that you understand every detail of a technic and how to apply each move during training. It's a great way to stay fit and learn martial arts for fun or self defense. Join!! You won't regret it!!!

Been a member for over a year, this gym has it all: Professional Muay Thai fighter Sean Hinds, 3rd degree brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Cesar Pereira from Rio, Brazil and Pro boxing champion Joey Valle. In addition to this, an extremely friendly atomosphere from the staff and the rest of the members. It's very likely this gym has what you're looking for whether you want to get in shape, have fun, meet new people or learn practical self-defense. To anyone thinking about it, my suggestion would be to take the free class and come see for yourself.

I have been invovled in the Jiu-Jitsu program under Cesar Pereira for about 2 months now and let me say he is an incredible instructor. He is not only patient but technical in his approach to jiu-jitsu that makes me want to go back as often as possible. I say if you give it a try you will definitely want to be back.

I can proudly say that I am one of C3's original members and am excited for the approaching 1 year anniversary (June 11, 2011). Being one of the original members, I've seen the place grow and start to find it's identity. I came to C3 having had trained brazilian jiu jitsu and muay thai previously, so I had certain criteria that I was looking for in a gym to train. I wanted a gym with knowledgeable instructors, check, clean and with great equipment, check, a great atmosphere, check, a place where I could be part of a team, check, and all at a reasonable cost, double check! The members at C3 are treated like members of a club, not just clients paying dues and the owners take the feedback from the members seriously and reinvest in the club to make it better. While C3 is a new MMA gym, it's already been a successful gym. Earlier this year, we had 7 fighters compete on an amateur fight card on Long Island and left with a 6-1 record. The brazilian jiu jitsu program keeps getting more and more competitive and it's not uncommon to see 2 or more black belts on the mats. The program is lead by a 3rd degree black belt from Brazil who has great enthusiasm, energy, and a wealth of experience. Training at C3 is a pleasure and there are so many available classes that it's crazy. It's a good group of people who get along both in the gym and outside. So come on down and try a class. I'll be looking for you.

Re: Greg.
By your description it sounds like you tried one of our cardio bag classes for your free trial class. We have an MMA part and a fitness part at our gym. Our Muay Thai, BJJ and boxing classes are where you will get technical instruction and properly learn each discipline. The cardio bag classes are designed to give a great workout and burn maximum number of calories in a little less than an hour.
Please contact us at 203 588 9542 to schedule a new absolutely free trial class in either Muay Thai, jiu-jitsu or boxing and please make sure to let the person scheduling your class know which discipline you are interested in trying.
Thanks,
Karin George

I tried a class out there and there is no personal attention. just get on a bag and hit it. I definitely will not go back. i dont know how to punch or kick so why just have us do that. maybe show us how to do the technique so i can learn. i was in bad shape to start off thats why i wanted to try it out. instead of helping me i felt they pushed me to failing thinking i cannot do it. Will not be back!!!
I started the free 30 day trail and made it through about 2 weeks before stopping. They have a nice facility but my problem came from the following things: They are rather expensive
They did not allow me to participate in anything besides BJJ despite my desire to sign up for all of the classes
I was told I needed to wear their brand rash guard to all the no-gi classes. This was problematic because not only do I prefer a t-shirt when training but that created yet another expense as I would have needed to buy several or do laundry after every class to comply. Additionally, the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes that I attended were good, but a few of the classes I went to I was either the only one there or I was one of only a few. The rest of the time there was a good turnout, however. If the price and gym-specific clothing doesn't bother you and you don't mind going in blind then it's probably a good gym for you, but it was a deal breaker for me.
