As a parent, it is very important for me to find people that are good with kids to teach my child. I visited this dojo during a family and friends day a couple months ago and was blown away by the Sensei who worked very well with the children. The class was filled with about 20 children who ranged from the ages of 4 to 6 years old. He remembered every child's name and was so patient with each of them. His sense of humor kept the children engaged. He taught more than just the martial art, but things such as discipline and manners.
My son has almost completed his first month and I am still and continue to be impressed. The person I spoke to regarding payment was so kind and candid to me regarding her journey to become part of the Butoku Dojo that she made me feel like part of their family. She also spoke of things such as movie nights at the dojo, summer camps, and Christmas parties that were available for us to take advantage of. I hope my son becomes more interested in karate (right now he looks at it like a job) but I am determined to keep sending him against his will because I know how important it is to be physically fit and to be able to defend yourself. I have a feeling he will learn much more than that from his sensei.
I highly recommend this dojo especially for younger children.

I am a black belt, and have been to many many different karate schools, and, BY FAR, this is THE BEST place to study martial arts. I couldn't think of one thing wrong with Butoku Karate Dojo if i tried. This is the best investment I have ever made, I can defend myself against basically anyone. If you are thinking about joining karate, don't waste your time at any other place, just go STRAIGHT to butoku karate dojo. Best money you will ever spend, trust me, its worth it. The instructors are also amazing by the way.

I absolutely love this school. The instructors are great and I would recommend this school to anyone interested in studying martial arts.
My two sons have been with this Dojo for 6 years now, and I have never been disappointed. Sensi John Wasalina has a passion for Karate and teaching. He cares a great deal about technique, skill, and form. But what I find most intriguing is that he goes above and beyond to teach his students about life, values, and determination. My sons are extremely self-confident and incredibly strong for their age, both physically and mentally. They push through every challenge and stand up for themselves. They have a great deal of respect for their Sensi and enjoy going to karate. It is clear Sensi Wasalina invests his time in the students and money is not the primary goal of this Dojo. He and those he has trained make up an incredible team that treat you like family. I am very impressed with what they have instilled in my children and I am so thankful for Sensi's influence in their lives.
