Character development is number one here.

Through physical exploration self awareness is gained along with relationship skills in the methodology of study emphasized at this school. Self defense is certainly a by product of the skill set. Overall health is greatly encouraged with increased knowledge of practical anatomy and application of that knowledge in many ways. Fun is encouraged along with focus at appropriate times.

A rowdy unorganizied preschool

The kids at the Bushidokan don't take this as a martial art. The use it as extra curricular activity. The school was set up for people who wanted to learn self defense, if people want to do martial arts for fun, there are a lot of other places to go to but this is not one of them. Also there are too many really little kids who just keep flooding in and making the classes overcrowded and impossible for those who want to learn, to learn. Unfortunately all the kids, except about 5, are arrogant and for the loss of a better word, stupid. As a matter of fact one kid is using it as a place to collect money. One of the instructors thinks that Yawara is playing the ukulele and Nage is disco dancing. The class is sometimes a lot like a nursery school. The kids bring out a ball and in minutes they are yelling and screaming. One kid is just plain rude, he has the gaul to call someone a DUMMY for no good reason and he won't let you make a phone-call [he tries to take your phone] without knowing who you are calling.

P. S.

The belt closet needs to be refilled.

Good place that's crowded.

I think this is an excellent place to learn a marshal art, but too many people turn it into daycare.

On the whole it's average because of all the rowdy kids who totally forget they're learning an

art in a dojo(temple). So studious kids should come yet many of us agree on the fact that

it is terribly overcrowded.

Prof. Dale is too nice.

The bushidokan needs to change. Even though prof. Dale is a nice guy no one respects him.

In the beginning of the kids class a bunch of kids bring out a ball. After a minute all the kids

are Screaming! And Dale has no control over them. where as when prof. Mancia is there things aren't quite as rowdy. Now I prefer Prof Dale, but he has no control. So I think dale should really crack down on the

kids. Another thing is why does he promote his own---kids to high ranks.

slum lord, poor facilities and womanizing sensei

This school has residents living there who tend to do drugs or are living like serfs under a self proclaimed lord. The facilities are all ghetto rigged because the owner expects his studemts to pay for everything! This dojo has a history of producing violent students, bad mouthing other schools and the "sensei" is almost a predator the way he sleeps arpund with women even having a history of doing so while he is married! The owner is also prejudice against muslims or anyone of "terrorist" decent. Avoid this place, while they work on a donation basis which is nice as a parent who cant afford other places, they frequently "lose" donations and hold it against you preventing you from advancing. All around bad mojo!
