Bushi-Katagi Dojo is a wonderful school, it teaches traditional Shotokan karate. Instructor Sensei Rosario is a great teacher. He teaches his students many things that can beneficial in protecting themselves in the future. Some other things he teaches is to be respectful to others and to discipline yourself. He also teaches how to avoid a fight.

Sense Rosario is a very good instructor. He is not the type of instructor that you spend a month with and don’t learn anything. If you are willing to put in the effort to actually learn Shotokan, come check us out. He is very passionate, and wants us to learn to defend ourselves. He teaches us proper form, and then how to apply it. Proper form builds our strength, endurance, and speed. So, when fighting we will react faster and stronger. He is not shy about pointing out the little details that are important in order to better defend ourselves. I have better discipline and control now, than when I first started.

Bushi Katagi Dojo offers true traditional Karate-Do. I have studied with many teachers over the years and Rosario Sensei is by far the best. If you're looking to learn a true martial art, that can be used both to defend yourself and as a tool to develop your potential as a human, come to Bushi Katagi and train with us.

My son enrolled in August and it was the best decision his father and I could have made. The instructor is very dedicated and my son has learned a lot in a short time.

I would recommend Bushi-Katagi Dojo to students with an interest in traditional Martial Arts who want to learn in an environment of discipline, respect, and who are sincere in their desire to practice and improve. Our experience has been positive and as parents, we believe that the training has been beneficial for our children. You don't have anything to lose because you are encouraged to try without obligation and without pressure. You will stay because you want to stay, and practice because you want to progress. Karate students come from all walks of life- all ages and fitness levels. Bushi-Katagi Dojo is not a place to focus on your limits, but to be open to the possibility that with effort, you can do far more than what you believe yourself to be capable of. We are glad to have this school in the community.

Disciplined, thoughtful sensei with a good style

Sensei Rosario does a great job of training his students based on their ability and desire. If he knows you are a strong, capable student, he'll draw it out of you. If you are having difficulty with basics, he'll work at your speed. If you're a student who really wants to get the most out of your training, Sensei Rosario is the kind of teacher who will make you start over again if seven steps into a line of practicing blocks you do not put your arm out far enough. On the other hand, if you're having problems, he'll go (a little) gentle on you until you can get it right.

There is nothing fluffy or "fast food" about his dojo, though; you train hard, you are tested on Japanese words (only a few, so don't get scared), and mental balance is as important to him as physical prowess.

I studied Okinawan Shorin-Ryu for years, Kajukenbo for a semester in college and Savate for a few months. For those who have been in the martial arts before, Sensei Rosario is a good person to introduce you to classic Shotokan Karate. For those who have not, Sensei Rosario is a good person to learn the importance of discipline and respect in the martial arts.

I am pleased to have found Bushi-Katagi Dojo for my 11 year old daughter. Sensei Rosario is so patient and positive with both children and adults. I have seen so much growth in my daughter in the few months that she has been with the dojo; not only in her knowledge of karate, but in her personal strength and confidence.

Not only is our 5yr old learning Shotokan Karate, he has also learnt the Japanese words for his forms and katas. Sensei Rosario is an excellent instructor and is absolutely great with kids. I definatly recommend this dojo for it's professionalism, cleanliness and a great all around atmosphere also the price can't be beat.
