I actually started practicing with Jeff Prather in 1991, was a good martial art teacher once upon a time.

Jeff Prather has always been a little bit of a grifter and crafty opportunist. A tiny bit like a used car salesman or slimy politician.

This alone is not a deal breaker as his skills at martial arts is, or at least was legit. Same as formerly Grandmaster Hatsumi is also bit of a crafty opportunist.

When I first practiced or took lessons with the Bujinkan Yameneko Dojo, Prather didn't have a physical commercial dojo, we mostly practiced at the U of A near the Mckale center or at Tahoe park. A bit Later Hatsumi came to Tucson to give some of us students our signed by him rank certificates.

They genuinely know and at least used to teach the genuinely Japanese based martial arts of the Bujinkan. They mostly obviously come from Jujutsu and Bujutsu. And Prather did have years of real military training and was a DEA agent. These aren't honorary titles like Steven Segal's (speaking of grifters) non Akido titles.

Prather has really changed. Using Samurai and Shinobi traditions to give a little more character, excitement, and even a bit of fantasy and make-believe to ones dojo is one thing, but manipulation, cult like persuasion and sexual misconduct with his students and others is entirely unacceptable. I'm actually very disappointed and very sad about it.

You can get quality Judo, Jujutsu, karate, kung fu and maybe even Bujinkan lessons elsewhere in Tucson from equally or better skilled instructors.

I don't think anyone discharged from the military for sexual assault, and has it in writing they are homophobic should be running a school. If he recommends "sexual healing", run. Or if we are to take his version, "sexual healing to cure a husband being gay": Run. Here's the rest http://www. mspb. gov/netsearch/viewdocs. aspx?docnumber=673012&version=675024&application=ACROBAT

Jeffrey Prather is a rapist. He was fired from the DEA for stealing government resources to use for his other businesses including his dojo, and for raping women. He recruited many of these women into his cult via his dojo.

He has continued down the crazy path and has gone full blown conspiracy theorist and is advocating for the overthrow of the government. He is a bad person and a bad teacher.

A very well run traditional dojo. My kids love it. Shihan Prather is one of the highest ranked, most respected martial artists in the US. My kids have learned so much about martial arts and life. A great place to have your kids prepare for adulthood.

There is a lot of stuff about Mr. Prather on the net. He has his opinions and yes, he was removed from the DEA as an employment action for what seems to amount to a conflict of interest issue, mixed with some MeToo railroading. But if you connect with him as a person, not just troll him on the net, you will find he is a very legitimate, skilled teacher. He is a compassionate person in good standing with the Japanese lineage he holds simply trying to make the world a little bit better. I would trust him 100% with not only my training, but helping my kids grow into contributing members of society. Training is old school which is very much needed in todays coddled culture. Great for kids and adult alike,

I used to train at this Dojo back between 2012-2016 at that time most of the instructors where lower level black belts and all around good people, but after the Sempai of the dojo (David Petersmarck) a 15th degree black belt a Di Shihan left because he was instructed to start his own school by Grandmaster Masaki Hatsumi. after that I discovered what type of a person Jeff Prather was he had a very large ego so much to the point where he wrote an anonymous letter to the FBI saying that David Petersmarck was a corrupt government official. He also accused one of his other students and a 5th degree black belt Mitch Hayes that he was embezzling money, this was just after he left Jeff Prather's dojo. The FBI launched a full out investigation on both these men and found nothing. After this I left the dojo because I don't want to be affiliated with a man like him.

I recently tried to get back into the Bujinkan and was looking for other dojos in the Tucson area when I was doing some research I came across an old website from 2007 that showed that Jeff Prather was a leader of a cult called Warrior Ship. He would take advantage and manipulate vulnerable women and get them to have sex with him he called this "Sexual Healing. " I would just advise you to stay away from this man and his dojo.

Instructor has an ego issue and does not like it when questions are asked. He has a hard time admitting when he is wrong. Not to mention pushing his Spritual and religious babble. I get it, it's a tradtional art but dont need to have a preacher. He needs to learn how to teach people at different levels and with different beliefs. As for the training I've seen leafes fly away with more effort, these guys really just plop over, when touched. They'd be white belts in any other art.

It's a good place for daycare though.

I took my son there to learn self defense and to do some sort of after school activity. After watching training and seeing how most there training is based of " Quarter speed, Quarter power" it automatically raised red flags. Everything seemed choregraphed and no base in reality.

Not to mention he tried conselling me on how to raise my child. Who does that? I walked out and never came back.

Dont waste your money, real babysitters cost less.

I don't believe I have ever met anyone with such a God complex as Jeff Prather. His level of narcissism and ego make anyhting less that complete submission to his will unacceptable and he has made a habit of turning on long time students.

We pulled our child from the dojo when we could no longer ignore this behavior

Jeff Prather is a con artist. ..a complete narcissist and schizophrenic that lacks integrity and humility. There are other Bujinkan teachers in the area that are truly legitimate. Please seek them out and listen to what they have to say. Avoid Yamaneko Dojo.

Agree Shihan is too trusting. Prather fired Donald Reifler from his Purdue martial arts club back in 2004. Riefler is radical, NAMBLA, homosexual, anarchist who hates Christians, teachers, Native Americans and Prather, calls himself Akusai, Japanese for Evil Genius, and troll-blogs against Prather.

Phil Legare another married, Prather ex-student, tried to take over Prather’s student base, but was fired from the US Embassy in Tokyo for his multiple affairs with foreign women and bar girls. Lisa Waters was another married ex-student having sex with ex- student Eric Sterns, Legare and more. Prather fired the lot, and they sought revenge. Legare retired from the NSA and returned to Japan, Other ex-students are still government officials, and include another corrupt OPR agent Dave Petersmark who has been read his rights in dozens sex and racist investigations and USBP Agent Mitch Hayes who embezzled nearly $900 from Prather and then lied about it. Nobody gets to investigate DOJ, DEA, and OPR so they get to lie about Waco, Las Vegas, JFK, Ruby Ridge -and Prather. Forget fake news, deep state goons, terrorist trolls, leftist lunatics and loser ex-students chattering’s. Just stop in and see for yourself!

Real Deal Dojo Top Instructor

Prather has been teaching and speaking truth for years. http://www. foxnews. com/us/2014/11/12/border-patrol-agents-say-agencys-gun-recall-puts-them-in-danger. html, http://jeffreyprather. com/blog/. He has many ex-students who want revenge for their firing, or wish to take his students for their own studios, and embarrassed enemies who want to silence his government whistle blowing, by disgracing him and discrediting his message about DEA/DOJ corruption, via a long-discredited, decade-old, phony document, that is not a court document, filled with lies, leaked by Eric Holder’s DOJ, spread by cyber trolls and publicized by fake news. Prather has been vetted as never ever even being charged much less convicted of anything ever, by www. ArizonaUndercover. com. The truth is Prather accused DEA boss Leonhart of protecting the cartel. In fact, she did. http://world. time. com/2014/01/14/dea-boosted-mexican-drug-cartel/. So to kill his message, she targeted him to kill the messenger. But Leonhart resigned in disgrace because she allowed DEA agent to have sex with cartel prostitutes. www. msnbc. com/msnbc/dea-agents-had-cartel-funded-sex-parties-prostitutes. He is employed in good standing by the all branches of the US military, international businesses such as www. Calimmune. com, schools, www. desertchristian. org. Some of Prather’s accusers are Jared Armitage -a black contact wearing, cyber-terrorist-stalker-troll, who is obsessed with and blames Prather for his ex-wife leaving him, but in reality, he abused her sexually so badly she left him and got a real court order of protection. Ex-Prather student Mike Pearce married with a kid in Japan, had a sexual affair another ex-student Tucsonan Michelle Mann. Prather fired both. Pearce was the DEA’s informant. Pearce put Mann in contact with DEA to then accuse Prather. So, it goes. Whatever the bad guys accuse you of, they are actually doing.

Don't buy fake news reviews. Instructor was Fast & Furious whistleblower who took on Eric Holder. MSPB is 10 year old a fake court document. Prather has never even been charged with anything ever and has been vetted by tons of schools, churches & businesses, is a veteran, teaches thousands of soldiers. Ex-students some of who are corrupt government officials plant these lies.

Still people empower this guy to be teaching his crap? All you have to do is google his name. Do your research.

"Another agent, Jeffrey Prather, was fired after admitting he let civilians use “DEA-issued fully automatic weapons” as part of a security training business he had set up, according to merit board records. The board also concluded that Prather, who it said established his own religion, had persuaded “vulnerable and struggling women” to have sex with him “by telling them they would be ‘healed’” if they did. "

In the proposal, the agency alleged that, under

the pretense of helping individuals through a practice the appellant developed and

called “sexual healing, ” he took advantage of vulnerable and struggling women.

I-1 AF, Tab 10, Subtab 4i at 11. Specifically, the agency alleged that he

persuaded women to engage in sexual acts with him by telling them that they would be “healed” if they had sexual relations with him. Id. The agency further alleged that, in their sworn statements, two women described their “sexual healings” as “violent and/or a rape, and [he has] been accused of sexual assault by at least one of the women. ” Id. In addition, the agency alleged that, in his leadership role at the Connection Institute, he advised a member that her husband had become a homosexual and that the way to bring him back to their marriage was for her to engage in “‘sexual healing’ with [him]. ”
