What I love about Shotokan Karate is that its very traditional karate, very grounded in basic blocks, punches, kick, kata (SKA has 15 kata or forms) and kumite(structured sparing), not much has been changed since it was brought from Okinawa to Japan to the US. Our local instructors both have over thirty years of experience in karate and are great to work with. Its a smaller group so you get more personal attention too. Everyone there practices with a great mentality and when you get around those with a serious mindset your level really jumps. And as a bonus we generally get several visits from other black belts in the organization through out the year who lead a few practices for us and keep us connected with other SKA dojos.

The people in Boise State karate are some of the most friendly people I have ever met and I have now been training with them for over a year. Since starting training with them I have pushed myself to new limits and I have got to train with other members across the country since they are affiliated with a national organization. I would Highly recommend them to anyone who has wanted to learn a martial art without spending an arm and a leg.
you get in what you get out, the instructor knows what he is talking about, emphasis on basics.
