I teach Ninjutsu in a very traditional style with the use of weaponry and hand to hand combat versions that allow you to actually react without having think about the situation. In martial arts we are taught to expect the unexpected there for allowing us to act accordingly to any given situation and bring about positive results on our own part. I call it both muscle memory and self-offense training. Every one should learn how to defend themselves from an attacker without the use of firearms, this allows us to prevent any unnecessary harming of an individual. First in any type of situation we should act diplomatically trying to to promote fighting and diffuse the situation with a very short sequence of moves, on rare occasions we can see that sometimes we have to take things a bit further but this is only when a person or group of people threaten our lives and the lives of others such as family or friends. Ninjutsu is great for self-defense but is mainly a self-offense art form. This is why I include teaching each student control over the emotional aspects when it comes to a situation of getting into a fight, if you can control your own emotional reactions to what is happening then you can end the situation with little to no harm of the attacker except their own pride.
