I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. Positive atmosphere for everyone. A very well run center. They have a good staff and are willing to work with you on times. Black Dragon Martial Arts is an excellent facility with awesome instructors. The program is a terrific mix of tradition and modernity. I just can't say enough great things about the program, you need to go and check it out for yourself, it is great for both the child, teen or adult student!

We love it here! Our 3-year-old was nervous at first but Nick and Marty welcomed her so quickly and made her feel comfortable. They are great, provide a lot of one on one attention, when needed. It’s amazing to see the growth in our daughter since she started attending classes there. They are so great with working with kids of all ages and keep you updated on progress.

I love what Black Dragon has done for my son. Before starting he was quiet, reserved and was lacking in confidence and have seen a huge improvement in just a short few months of joining. It was adorable and extremely spot-on. I'm very impressed.

I have only been studying with Sensei for a few months at Black Dragon but I feel I learned so very much. His instruction is very easy to follow but he pushes you to your limits which I love. I am from Argentina where all the time girls get assaulted and kidnapped so I wanted to take self-defense classes to protect myself against any such things. After just 4 months I can punch, kick, grapple, and even break boards. I have much more confidence now than I ever did before and I feel I can truly defend myself if I ever have to. And I keep learning more every day. Great teach and great school!

So I studied with Sensei Michaels for almost two years. And it was the best two years of instruction I could have asked for. I got in great shape from it, and really learned how to be a bad ass. Not that it's Sensei Michaels intention to produce ass kickers, but you can't learn kokuryu from him and not be one. I got up to Blue belt and had to move for work, total bummer. If I ever make it back to Arizona though, I'll be sure to rejoin and I'm determined to get my black belt. Warning. ...the training isn't easy. He pushes you. But you never get pushed past your limits. Instead he manages to get you to move your own limits and achieve things you never thought possible. Not only did I lose over 100lbs and get in great shape which I never could've done without Black Dragon, but I was breaking boards in my first month. Never thought that would be possible. Until I was breaking cinder blocks a year later. If you are looking for the best damn martials arts around, check out Black Dragon and Sensei Michaels. You will NOT be disappointed.
