European Martial arts. Think: fighting with weapon in hand.
Primary focus on longsword, dagger as once you get the basic concepts of these- other swords come very naturally.
This is a study group. we seek to drill and learn the basics as shown and written in the translated original manuals and strive to become proficient in the finer details of dueling under increasing amounts live and active pressure from the opponent while sparring as safely as one can with fencing mask and gloves. The expert is John Clements of Iron Door in Georgia. We have been learning from Jeff Hansen who has recently moved out of state.

Programs & Class Schedule
What: “Medieval” *Renaissance European martial arts. Lichenauer/Fiore/Wallersteinwith focus on longsword, dagger, and unarmed(other weapons covered with interest)
Where: Rushton park 3000 Highland ave Birmingham, Al 35242
When: Every Saturday and Monday morning 10 am-noon,
Sundays at 2 pm
Who: 16 years and older( **per meetup guidelines: attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them )
How: Fuehlen’, learning from the manuals, and Bloßfechten (pronounced "bloss-feshten/fekhten" in English) is a Medieval German word meaning unarmoured sword-fighting(we use fencing masks and hand protection)
*we are not: hema, sca, buhurt or schola st george(all quality groups with varying ideals for recreating medieval European martial arts). members of any group are very welcome to train and learn with us, understanding: your house, your rules- our house our rules.
Please wear a red shirt that you dont mind getting dirty. Black pants or shorts preferred.
