I have been going to the school for a while and I can tell you it is a blast. I have learned so much in the relaxed atmosphere. They have a full sized kick boxing ring as well as an MMA Cage. Sensei Kelley is awesome, caring, and knowledgeable. He has helped me work around some of the injuries I have had to gain the most out of my experience. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

JD of SD is a great martial arts school. Teachers use real world application approach to teaching jujitsu and judo. Recommend this this school to anyone who is looking for real self defense training, not just some flashy moves to earn "points" in a competition.

The teachers provide a safe environment to learn how to truly deal with dangerous situations. This is full contact. You will not only train your body, but also train your mind on how to keep calm when it matters.

School offers competition training, self defense, and kickbox training.

This is not a belt factory! Each person will EARN their belt. If you are just looking for a belt you are better off going somewhere else.

Great expierence, will not be looking for any other schools anytime soon. Owner and assistants are played back and care about their students. They focus on what matters, not bowing in and push-ups.

I can't imagine going anywhere else where I would find this well rounded of an experience. I love this place!

Master Kelley absolutely knows what he is talking about and teaches with great passion for the art! He runs a fantastic dojo! He is very knowledgeable, patient and definitely challenges you in a positive to help you succeed and build the confidence he knows lies inside of you! I can't wait till the next class. My two daughters and I are taking it together and are learning while having fun doing it. His staff along with himself are so great with instructing my girls to their abilities and more so they get to enjoy the art of Jujitsu! They think it's the coolest thing that they can lift and throw someone almost twice their weight over their shoulder within the first class. I recommend anyone who has been on the fence to learn to come here to do it!

My experience at this school was fantastic. Rob was extremely nice and made sure i felt comfortable with everything he was teaching me to do. He was also very positive about my progress even though i giggled through the majority of the lesson. He, also, gave a tour of the school and the people involved with it before we began any sort of lesson. I would recommend the Jujitsu School of Self-Defense to anyone who is interested in learning to protect themselves.

Like all schools size doesn't matter. This is a small dojo but it has everything you need for training and more one on one. You will never be left wondering what to do. Very thorough instructions and can adjust the techniques for any disabilities.

I used to go to this school, but quit because you never knew if you were going to get what you paid for that evening. Don't get me wrong, when the class was good, it was great! But over time it became a waste of money. The "dojo" was in the owners tiny garage. Granite this was a few years ago when I went to this school, so things mite have changed.

I just went with my roommate from college who has been going for a few years to watch her. I have my black belt in Tae Kwon Do so coming here was so different for me. I didn't realize how different Jiu Jitsu was from Tae Kwon Do, but I can say that from the short time I was there, Jiu Jitsu is way better. I ended up learning a ton of cool things. Master Kelley was super nice and welcoming. Definitely considering going back.

I've been attending class since December of 2012 & I love it. It's an awesome way to really figure out who you are, while learning to protect yourself at the same time. The owner AND the instructors really know what they're doing and each have their own way of explaining/ demonstrating the techniques & their purposes. Not to be cheesy but, it's changed my life quite a lot and despite the fact that I live an hour away, I still will attend class as often as possible.

If I want a superb martial arts experience I go to The Jujitsu School Of Self Defense. The instructors are experienced, knowledgeable and (most importantly) approachable. Master Kelly exemplifies the title "Master." This Dojo is the perfect marriage of martial arts sport and self defense training. Every session challenges me to become a better fighter, as well as teaches me the tradition and skills to understand why I train the way that I do. As someone that has had experience in law enforcement, I wish that I would have trained the way that I do now! I am very excited for my progression; I look forward to continuing my path with JSSD. :D

I have worked with Mr. Kelley within the dojo and outside the dojo. I have to say he is by far the most caring and thoughtful person I know. Not only is he knowledgeable about the Jujitsu system he is teaching, but he is also knowledgeable about conflicts that take place in ones personal life and how these can effect ones training and mind set. He is simply the best!!!

Having read the post from j doe dated in aug, they clearly have no idea about the school. Seems to me it is a personal issue... Maybe a rival school or ex.... In regards to the instructors their ages are 18, 19, 27, 39, 42, 43, and 60. They have to be a certain belt level and are very knowing. In regards to master kelley, he is very fit. Just last class he kickboxed 13 rounds non stop with three separate students then ground grappled with 2 other students for 45 mins. then the remark about his personality. I can speak as a single mother of two children that sensei kelley shows a real concern for their safety in the dojo and their life outside the dojo. I would, and have recommended him to others and will continue to do so. J doe has clearly no history with this school! If what they said was true.... Why would they be a student for 6 to 1 year if it was that bad. Jujitsu school of self defense is by far the best martial arts school I've attended.

I have known Master Kelly for over 20 years. He is a dedicated, committed Martial Artist who is passionate about his art. From his youth, he dedicated himself to learning his art to perfection. He has now committed himself to passing on his knowledge, experience, and passion to his students. Master Kelly's expertise in self-defense is demonstrated in his classes as he prepares his students to face a sometimes dangerous world.

Martial Arts is one of the best methods for helping young and old alike develop a more disciplined life that will overflow into their daily routines. The Arts helps people become better students, employees, and parents. Master Kelly is passionate about his discipline and will encourage the same in his students.

I recommend Master Kelly and the Jujitsu School of Self-Defense without hesitation. It will not take more than one class for both parent and student to realize that they have made a great choice.
