These people have made it clear that they only care about money. They claim that your child will learn about martial arts but it is all a gimmick to get more money out of you. There are too many kids in each class so your child never gets attention and you as a parent have to teach your kids how to do the different forms yourself because they rush through everything during class. They claim to build your child's self confidence, but they don't. The belittle your kids. If an unfortunate event in your life happens like a serious illness they don't care. They will make you pay the full amount of your contract even though they don't deliver what they promised. When my daughter was a student we were hemorrhaging money left and right to them because they come up with something new promotion each month that your are required to pay for like t-shirts or gear. They guilt you into bringing your kids to their camps and other activities that cost more and more money. The bottom line is they are heartless, money hungry, greedy, business owners that operate like robots with no emotion or connection to your student unless you pay them enough money. . My daughter did not learn a thing from their class while in the black belt club. She didn't learn accurate self defense. They are liars and will tell you what you want to hear in order to get your money. And the most ridiculous thing they do is guilt you into joining the black belt club forcing your child to decide if they will commit to this for 3 years. How do you or your child know if they will still like it in 3 years? That doesn't matter. We did not get what was promised from our $3. 500 we spent. Biggest waste of money I have ever spent in my entire life. I can teach better martial arts than these fools. A pretty little kick is not going to save you in a real life threatening situation. If you love your money and you want your kid to learn real martial arts. ... DON'T TAKE THEM HERE!!!!

Our children Coty and Cailee joined STAR Martial Arts in 2008 after completing an in-school program at Concord Ox Bow Elementary. It was amazing to see the Taekwondo and Life-skills they learned in such a short period of time. After their graduation we were certain our children would benefit from Taekwondo.

We enrolled both Coty and Cailee in the Black Belt program for very specific reasons.

Our son Coty has special needs, and due to his disabilities, life has been an uphill struggle every step of the way. We knew we needed to find a way to build his self-confidence, at the age of 8 he felt like a failure most of the time. On the other hand, our daughter Cailee is a free spirited, energetic, creative little girl who needed the discipline of Taekwondo!

Within months of starting we were able to see significant changes in both Coty and Cailee. To be honest Coty really struggled at first, he couldn’t remember his forms, he was upset when he couldn’t catch on as quickly as some of the other students and he wanted to give up. We saw a little boy who was accomplishing goals, learning Life-skills and making friends. With Cailee we were excited to see the discipline of learning to listen to her instructors, be respectful and do what was asked of her the first time.

Within a year Coty was making significant progress and begged us to let him join the Leadership program. He wanted to compete at tournaments, learn gymnastic skills and told us he wanted to become a Master someday! Coty has been competing for almost two years and cannot get enough Taekwondo, most weeks we are the STAR at least 4-5 times per week. We are proud to say that he earned his Black Belt in June of 2010 and was also a State Champ in 2010. He has his sights set on being a World Champ someday; with the help of the dedicated Instructors at STAR we know he will accomplish his goals, it may take him longer but he no longer wants to give up and quit, his mind is set!

STAR Martial Arts has truly changed our children lives. The Instructors are amazing; they are dedicated to each and every student and their success. We are proud to we are part of the STAR Martial Arts and ATA family!
