Great place to learn Hapkido and get in excellent shape. Good group of instructors and students too with a familial atmosphere. Convenient school for military stationed at the Pentagon, JB Meyer-Henderson Hall.

Be Ryong Martial Arts is one of the only schools in this area that teaches authentic Korean Hapkido taught by 6th degree black belt Master Seung Hum Yun. The school also has an outstanding WTF Tae Kwon Do program. The school offers an old school martial arts program integrated with modern physical fitness training principles. Master Yun's depth of knowledge in martial arts and physical fitness is unparalleled. That, combined with the welcoming environment that he has fostered at the school make it a school where you, or your children will feel comfortable right from the start. From the seasoned martial artist to the absolute beginner, this is a wonderful school for anyone to grow as a person, and as a martial artist.

The learning atmosphere at BeRyong is unsurpassed. Students are encouraged to give back from the very beginning, and any newcomer will find him/herself at home with tons of help and advice from more veteran ones who generously pass their knowledge to the next generation. This generous spirit fostered by the Korean Master, and the skill level of Master and Instructors make this school a truly excellent place to grow as a martial artist.

I spent two years at Be Ryong, going nearly four days a week, every week. It has a great family atmosphere, and all the instructors are very knowledgeable and friendly. This is a great place to work out as well, but the main objective is to learn techniques and concepts. Master Yun is an excellent instructor, and really makes the dojo feel like a second home.

I would go back to this dojo in a heartbeat if I could, and still drop by when I can (I had to move out of state for school).

Without a doubt, one of the best experiences of my life. I started here (At the school which is located in Alexandria, VA) as a hapkido white belt with absolutely 0 martial arts experience, and left as a black belt when I regretfully had to move away. That's literally the only thing that could stop me from coming to class (4 times a week).

Also important, this is a sparring school, so all the things you learn are put to the test.

Master Yun is all of the following:

- Kind

- Smart

- Incredibly Skilled

- A good teacher

- A BEAST (Seriously, sparring with this guy is like sparring with a tree that hits back with the force of a car accident)

- Gentle (He can take you all the way to your limits without hurting you)

The other students and instructors at the school are outstanding, and i'm proud to have trained with them. You will forge friendships and skills, as well as your mind, body and soul.

I can't recommend this school enough for hapkido and taekwondo martial arts training.

Be Ryong Martial Arts provides instruction in Tae Kwon Do and Hap Ki Do. It is an excellent place for students of all ages. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient and genuinely care about the students. The school is led by Master Seung Hum Yun and he fosters an environment that is welcoming, challenging and fun.
