Neither this club nor the Rayville club has quality instruction.

Unfortunately, both of these clubs are lacking. As for passing or allowing students who do not make the cut, these do just that. I personally know of a student who is a black belt who has not earned it. When it comes to tournaments, the students here are intentionally put into lower brackets just so they can win. I have personally seen this.

Great club to learn karate and it's fundamentals

Billy Jones Karate is a great club to train and learn. Billy is someone who puts in the time for the kids and students. The students have to earn their belts. There is no belt if you have not earned it. Integrity is what makes a great club and Billy has it. Another great club in the area is the Rayville Shotokan Karate Club. If you live in West Monroe or Monroe, check out Billy's club. If you live close to Rayville, check out Chris Smith's North LA Shotokan.

ps There is a local karate club that passes kids even if they haven't earned a belt, but that is not the case here or in Rayville.

It is clear from watching the instructor that he cannot teach basics or kata effectively. While sparring is OK, without a grounding in kata and basics, the martial arts education is incomplete.
