Absolutely no organization at this school. The bulk of their quality instructors have moved on or there sporadically and inadequate instructors have taken their place. The lack of organization and leadership has caused this school, which once was a great karate school, to become a school of spiteful, vindictive, and disparaging instructors starting with Master Barley.

Barleys karate provides an extraordinary positive atmosphere and learning environment. The wonderful instructors present themselves very professionally and passionately take pride and care in their students. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn martial arts in a positive way.

My experience with Barley's Karate came at a point in my life when I needed a safe haven. They welcomed me into their family. Because that's what Barley's Karate is. A Tang Soo Do Family.
Master Barley had been my instructor while training elsewhere and was the first person to help me understand how to create power in my forms, that self defense was real. Not just a series of rote moves we memorized.
He took a real interest in molding and helping turn me into a true martial artist.
Being part of the group of top level instruction team he has working at his school was an honor.
A lot is expected from his staff and they never waiver from their responsibility of given their absolute best to the students training there.
I highly recommend this school.
I would be afraid for my child's safety if they received a black belt from this school. It would be a false sense of security. We attended this school then moved on. When my kids went against them at one of their sponsored tournaments they lost despite better ability and technique. It was obvious they were promoting their own students to hide their inferior training.
