Quality of programming has gone downhill

Programming has gone down hill since we started 3 1/2 years ago. Communication from lead instructor is minimal and he is difficult to deal with. Disappointed at the response to concerns presented to instructor and was treated curtly when asked for objective information as to what my child needed to improve on. Told “I don’t have time for this” I’m saddened that we spent three and a half years on this program to have things turn south.

I have been with BEMAA for several years. .... they lost excellent instructors and daycare director over the years my family has been there. ... and now they are at rock bottom! It has become a place with no respect for the children nor parents. Stay away unless you have deep deep pockets and don't care about your child's well being!

Baltimore Elite is an amazing martial arts school for both children and adults. The instructors have so much patience with the students no matter the age. Also all of the instructors are experienced and trained to teach. The summer camp and after school programs are amazing, the students have time to do do homework, eat an after school snack, have plenty of free time, and enjoy a martial arts class. During the summer camp I have trouble getting my child to leave because they have so much fun with the friends they make and how fun the daily field trips are.

I was really nervous when I started classes, but everyone I've encountered has been supportive and welcoming. Starting classes here was a great decision, and having tried several other area martial arts schools, I can honestly say this is the best place I've been. The instructors are top notch, and it's an all around positive and fun environment. You won't be sorry if you choose to come here!

Great school for my ADHD child!

They are so patient and supportive of my child! I would recommend them to anyone. The staff and management have done wonders for my child's self esteem as well as helping him channel his excess energy into more appropriate avenues. ...

Not a good place to send your children! Instructors are ok, but the office staff are the worst! So rude and disrespectful. No one is willing to work with you on anything and I hear nothing but bad things about the owner, although he is hardly there and very difficult to get in touch with. You'd think that if you pay all of that money, they'd be a little nicer to their customers. Nope! The parents in the lobby have nothing but complaints about the changes that are being made. Don't get locked in to a contract!

Run Away!!!! Terrible School!!!!

This is the most disgusting place I have ever been a part of! Rick Hammond is the most disrespectful, inappropriate, and ill-mannered person I have ever met! A previous comment mentioned that he is money hungry. ..I could not have said it better myself! He could not care less about the education and behavior of the students! All he cares about is getting people to sign a contract that they cannot get out of and taking their money to use for things that are obviously not related to the business. I have been witness to several accounts of harassment toward employees and I have seen and heard many situations where the students and parents were treated unfairly. Also, the after school/summer camp program is one of the worst I've seen! The children are unsupervised on far too many occasions and the staff are inexperienced, inappropriate, and immature. I would not trust my child with them if my life depended on it! Ms. Lisa, the after school/summer camp manager, has no idea what she is doing! This is a horrible place to send your children! Please, please, please consider other options!

My children have been attending BEMAA for a few years & we all love it. Couldn't ask for a better place for my them. We've never had any issues & never seen or heard anything inappropriate there. Over the years we've watched some of the students grow older & become new instructors & camp counselors. You do have to sign a contract to attend for so many months but this is explained to you at sign up & each time you renew your contract.

Poor Upper Management

The owner Rick Hammond is very money hungry and from several prior after school instructors it is known he sexual harrasses his female employees. He does not want anyone to leave once binded in contract regardless the circumstances and your child will only advance in their belt in an attempt to keep you locked in to the contract, not when your child is physically capable. I was first very pleased with this facility and now I am disgusted. I would never recommend parents to send their kids here, it is simply an endless money pit. Please send your child to a facility that focuses on the child's development in the sport and not the dollar sign.

My son has been attending this school for over 3 years now. About 1 year into his training, we moved over 20 miles away from the school. The instructors are so good with the kids that we continue making the drive to BEMAA even though there are closer schools.
