My child has been going to Baize Martial Arts as a student for years and I can honestly say that they are the reason he has opened up to people. I am disturbed by other comments on this page, but from personal experience I would and have recommended this school to anyone interested in Martial Arts. They have many different types of classes which helps being a parent always on the go, trying to accommodate our schedule. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them.

Teaches many styles very good most of the poor review given about beginner classes where they are used to set you up for the future classes which are more difficult. its a pretty good school if you ask me you can learn many martial arts and each teacher specialize in different styles

The Dojo is dirty and the staff is unfriendly.Plus to make things worse the owner seems to but drunk all the time at the school and while he teaches the day class. I do not want kids around this school again. The best thing you can do is to never go to this school.

I have been in martial arts 12 years. baize martial arts was great school at first. then when school moved to Warfield blvd ct. the school started to go downhill slowly. it is a former shadow of its glory days. the instructors are not qualified now and nine styles are not taught. when a certain instructor left that claim of nine styles is now false advertising. The owner no longer teaches or can't remember how to teach certain techniques when he does teach. For example as him how to do a Kami Bushi Kai Kata ...... he will show you how to do it five different ways( over about a months time) and he made up the Kata.sadly the owner does that with many techniques and katas too. That really does not display confidence is his teaching ability. Also the Ju Jitsu/judo class is not even taught by a certified instructor and he does not hold rank in those styles. The prices are way too expensive. there are many different choice of martial arts schools in Claksville and this school should be the last on the list to attend.

Baize Martial Arts is the "Mothership" of most of the schools that have opened in and around Clarksville. The tradition in the martial arts is to honor and respect. Baize Martial Arts teaches this and many more qualities important to living a productive life. This school has always been successful and will continue to be the best. Other schools take their lead from Baize Martial Arts. For sure, Baize Martial Arts is the REAL THING!

Would NOT recommend this school to anyone. Most of the staff members are rude and unhelpful, it is always very crowded and unclean. Prices are also VERY HIGH. I would look for a different school.

Horrible instruction, rude staff, and dirty school. I would NOT recommed this school to anyone. It would be a waste of money and time. They say they teach 9 styles but they do NOT. The facility was dirty and all the staff was rude and unhelpful. My son and I both took classes and was miserable the entire time. The instructors did not maintian good control of the class and everytime we went there was a different instructor and they taught the same thing over and over. I would look around at other school before paying the high price of horrible instuction at Baize Martial Arts.

My son has gone to Baizes for at least a year and has a great time learning about the different arts. Also he is a special needs child which has over so much. Baize Martial has spent the time with him and allowed him to grow. I would recommend this school to anyone that is starting out .

Poor Instruction

I recently took my child in for the two private lessons. As a former martial artist myself I noticed the instruction was lacking in the first private lesson. I thought maybe the instructor was new so I asked to have a different instructor for the next lesson with my child but again the instructor was lacking to me the qualities of a Good well rounded instructor. I proceeded to ask to watch a class before going about any kind of enrollment as me and my child are watching the class the instructor worked on basic techniques and as they were going through a series of motions the instructor stopped as if they didnt know what they were doing. To me instruction should be well developed and an instructor should never have to stop because they are unsure of the next motion. I wouldnt recommend this school, the instructors seem very UNDER qualified and not to mention the seemingly unhappy staff that greets you when you enter the school. I am in the process of finding a well rounded more qualified school in the area with good instruction and friendly staff.
This is the place to be if want to build self confidence, learn a traditional style, and work with very well informed instructors. I have been attending this school for a couple of years now and I can say I've learned more than I ever expected. Brian Baize has patience, understanding and he treats everyone with the deepest respect. The program is well run and offers different types of arts to include a grueling Tactics class to get you into shape. Stop by and you won't regret it. After all, don't you want to be able to defend yourself if you ever need to?
