I have training at this dojo for over seven years and honestly their is not a place in the world that I would rather be. Here students learn discipline and respect but have fun doing it. Both instructors make fun for all ages to learn Tae Kwon Do. Also students are not judged by their peers but helped. So in conclusion I believe that Ark L Tex Tae Kwon Do is the best martial arts school in Shreveport/Bossier and you should bring your child and see for yourself. I think you will be blown away.

My son is a black belt that has been training for 9 years and my wife and I could not be more pleased. Students are treated with dignity and respect at all times. Discipline and manners are always required. Good academics are encouraged, recognized and rewarded. Taking responsibility for ones actions is one of the hallmarks of getting a promotion. Kids are not promoted until they are ready. The Owners and training staff encourage and challenge the students to continue to improve. Frequent training seminars with other schools and instructors allow students to tap into the vast knowledge in Korean Karate. If becoming a great martial artist that is respectful and polite is a goal for your child, this is a great place to train. If you enjoy competition, this school encourages student to go to tournaments. They have trained multiple National and World Champions. In summary I could not think of a better place for my child to devote his extra curricular activities.

I was taking my child to classes here, when my child asked to quit. Don't get me wrong, we're in another martial arts type class now, and he loves it. This school, on the other hand, we don't care for. The main reason we quit was not because of the main instructor. He was excellent. We left because of another individual (I'm guessing it was the female instructor's husband) kept bringing food into the class (it was around supper time, not exactly the best way to keep a child engaged in class), and he was horribly loud and rude to the other parents. VERY unprofessional of Ark La Tex TaeKwon Do to allow to go on. Several (if not all) of the parents were very aggravated by his behavior. They also had a tendency to allow the older children to horseplay during class. The children in class spent more time watching the other kids play than actually paying attention to class. It was so frustrating to my child and to me, so we found another school that is MUCH more professional. We do miss the main instructor, but not all the other drama.
