My children and I take classes at Apollo's. The instructors are respectful, very kind and patient. It started out with my two children, one of who is highly functioning autistic. They are great with him, his attention and focus have grown tremendously. I decided to do it to get in shape, I have lost 45 +lbs and increased my cardio to keep up with my boys. Great stress reliever. It is a very family oriented enviroment.

Apollo's is only family as long as your check clears

My son was there for 6 months and tested literally every month for a new belt. Each test cost us $40, on top of outrageous monthly fees. And the end of the 6 months my son knew nothing. They pushed him along through the belts as long as my wife and I wrote the checks. I read other reviews and talked to a lot of parents of former students who were friends of mine and had left Apollo's for other schools. they were floored at how productive and informative their new school was, compared to what they were being given at Apollo's. So in closing no, I would not recommend Apollo's to anyone. Unless you like throwing your money away. We have since enrolled our whole family at a much nicer school ( G3 Martial Arts) with people who care about what they're doing and care about the students and not just their money.

All they're worried about is getting your money. They fill peoples heads with useless crap and give them belts to make them think they've really learned something. As a martial artist for most of my life, I find it very disappointing that they've made such a big name for themselves by treating people this way. It's always one lie after another. Very sad indeed.

The Instructors are amazing, and students are awesome. Definitely a great place to grow as a martial artist.
Once the best dojo in which to train, when the founder Dale Apollo Cook actively taught and was actively involved. Too many instructors, some great - some mediocre, have come and gone trying to fill his void. Without Apollo, there is no Apollo's. There may be other reasons for the decline - management, programs, personality conflicts, favoritism of some students over others, lack of appreciation or jealousy for talent and/or achievements? Who knows? But the decline is obvious. It's a tough business market, with much competition. I've been gone for years, but my heart and effort was there and I hate to see what has transpired. At this point, I'd say shop around for a dojo. Find what fits your interest and goals.
