ABD Colchester is a fabulous martial arts school for all ages, however, I have only sent my children. My son started to be with one of his friends and then decided it wasn't the activity for him and my daughter started. She has done a great job with it. Mr Hesser and Miss Whimore are phenomenal with the kids of all ages. They not only teach the kids martial arts moves, but they also teach them self defense and life lessons during class to help my children become better people. I admit I enjoy testing weeks as they do fun drills with the kids like crab wars and turtle drills and the kids also get a chance to take down a teacher which they love. They also do special classes for Mother's Day, Father's Day and have an annual picnic that begins with a class. I have also attended one of the Free Self Defense classes they run for the women on the community. Mr Hesser also participates in the Colchester Park and Rec Summer Camp by demonstrating for the kids and has had class dinar rations on the Town Green. This year Miss Whitmore assisted my daughter with her camp talent show - a demonstration of her martial arts skills. I could go on and on about ABD Colchester, but it's almost time for belt testing class, so will leave you with the following - kids, teen and adult classes, stripe and belt testing, self defense, self confidence, determination, community and family. ABD Colchester is a supportive and fun place to study BJJ. For those looking for good people of all skill levels to practice the "gentle martial art", this is a great place to train. ABD Colchester also has arrangements with sister schools all over the state where you can also train to accommodate any schedule. If you're looking for a hyper-competitive, competition-style BJJ environment, look elsewhere. This place has been perfect for me (a weekend warrior with a white-collar 9-5 job who can't show up with missing teeth, broken limbs, and massive bruises all over).

The school is very motivating for kids in the most positive of ways. My son looks forward to every class.

Abd is the best place ive trained hands down. A very professional staff dedicated to teaching martial arts to all ages.
