As an older middle-aged beginner to Karate, I joined this dojo for health reasons on a friend's recommendation. During training this past year and a half, I have found the classes to be challenging while allowing individual students to learn at a pace according to our abilities. The atmosphere is one of welcome and mutual respect, fostering personal growth and self-confidence. A large percentage of students have gone on to win state and national competitions. Every belt is earned (therefor a source of pride) by mastering the curriculum for that level – there are no automatic promotions. Currently, I have the rank of blue belt, working toward green.
