American Wado-Ryu Karate-Do Academy
The Wado-Ryu style of Karate was founded by Hironori Ohtsuka in the early 20th century and is a synthesis of Okinawan Karate-do and Japanese Budo arts such as Jiu-Jitsu and Ken-Jitsu. The American Wado Academy was founded by Tyrone Pardue, a long time Wado-Ryu student from Ireland where he trained exclusively with Masafumi Shiomitsu, Yoshihiko Iwasaki, and Tatsuo Suzuki from 1975 to 2003. Tyrone has been practicing Wado-Ryu continuously for more than three decades and was a successful competitor winning national and international titles in both Kata and Kumite.
