We train with the concepts held by Chiba Shihan . Kazuo Chiba (千葉和雄 also T.K. Chiba; February 5, 1940 – June 5, 2015) was a Japanese Judoka in 1954 and following that began Aikido about 1965. He served for seven years as uchideshi (live in student) at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo before being dispatched abroad to help develop Aikido internationally.
Head Instructor Kevin Bash Sensei, promoted to 5th Dan by Chiba Shihan, has taught Aikido at UCR for over 20 years. Our group is very unique as we currently have instructors developed from Kanai Shihan, Yamada Shihan, and Saito Shihan. Being on campus also allows us to expose Aikido to many young beginners.
