Aikido of Hernando we are here serve the communities of Hernando County. We have a relaxed fun atmosphere to train in the martial art of Aikido. The art promotes health and wellness while teaching an effective method of self-defense for people of all ages. As members of the USAF we offer practice consistent with that found everywhere in the Aikikai Foundation family. We are not oriented towards competitions rather our focus on mutual growth.
Over time attending seminars feels like large family reunions with old and new friends. We highly encourage our aikidoka (students) to train wherever their travels take them and experience the incredible variety of practitioners and teachers our art offers. Aikido is a modern Martial Art created by the Founder, Morihei Ueshiba. After the Founder's passing, his son Kisshomaru Ueshiba was inaugurated as Doshu. At present, Moriteru Ueshiba has succeeded his father as Doshu.
