Hi, I'm coach Greg Swanson, I've been teaching Judo, Sambo and Jujitsu for the last 15 years all throughout New England. My career as a grappler started at an AAU club 30 years ago and I am so excited to now operate an AAU club of my own right here in Baltic CT. My personal values align with the mission of the AAU, which is creating opportunity and character development through sport. I hope you will join us and find the same benefits that I and countless others have through training in Judo.
We are an IFJA/AAU School. We teach a sport oriented style of Freestyle Judo that embraces the fighting styles of Wresting, Sambo and Modern Jiu-jitsu. We also have a very popular Boxing Basics night!
All of our students first become members of the AAU and receive the benefits of their best in class training and competition insurance. Our rates are the best in the area (by far) and we offer a great family discount.

Freestyle Judo: Tuesday 6:30-8 pm
This is a class that focuses on the core skills of Kodokan Judo. Freestyle Judo is a competitive style of Judo that has less restrictive rules than Olympic Judo.
Boxing Basics for Judo & Self Defense: Wednesday 6:30-8 pm
It's important to be complete martial artists; learn the basics of Boxing and how to use it together with your Judo to protect yourself. Learn basic strikes, footwork & movement.
Russian Sambo: Friday 6:30-8 pm
Build upon your Judo base with more dynamic and diverse techniques from the Olympic art of Russian Sambo. While the Judo class focuses on traditional throws, armlocks and chokes, this class focuses on the unique grips, throws and lightning fast transitions from Sambo along with Sambo's world famous leglocks.
Open Mat/No-gi Advanced Techniques: Saturday 11-12:30 noon
Deep dive lesson that allow you to work on advanced concepts, positions and submissions. This class gives students the time to drill and work out the details as they make a technique their own and focus on skill rather than strength. Roll after class.
KIDS JUDO CLASSES:
