Programs & Class Schedule

Classes we offer are the following:
Mixed Martial Arts - A full-contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking and grappling techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports and martial arts. Various mixed-style contests took place throughout Europe, Japan and the Pacific Rim during the early 1900s.

Wrestling - Sport in which two competitors grapple with and strive to trip or throw each other down or off-balance. It is practiced in various styles, including freestyle wrestling, in which contestants can use holds above and below the waist, and Greco-Roman wrestling, which allows only holds above the waist. Sambo is a style of Russian origin employing judo techniques. Sumo wrestling is a specialized Japanese variety. U.S. professional wrestling is today among the most popular of all spectator sports, though it principally involves wildly flamboyant showmanship, including such nonclassical moves as kicks to the head that would be lethal if they were not actually pulled.

Submission Grappling - A formula of competition and a general term for martial arts and combat sports that focus on clinch and ground fighting with the aim of obtaining a submission using submission holds. The term "submission wrestling" usually refers only to the form of competition and training that does not use a "jacket", "gi," or "combat kimono," often worn with belts that establish rank by color. The sport of submission wrestling brings together techniques from Folk Wrestling (Catch-as-catch-can), Judo, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Ju-Jitsu and Sambo. Submission fighting as an element of a larger sport setting is very common in mixed martial arts, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, catch wrestling and others. Submission wrestlers or grapplers usually wear shorts, skin-sticky clothing such as Rash guards, speedos and mixed short clothes so they do not rip off in combat. They are also known for using submission techniques normally banned in other arts or competitions such as heel hooks, toe holds, wrist and finger locks.

Judo - Meaning "gentle way" is a modern martial art, combat and Olympic sport created in Japan in 1882 by Jigoro Kano (嘉納治五郎). Its most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the objective is to either throw or takedown an opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue an opponent with a pin, or force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke. Strikes and thrusts by hands and feet as well as weapons defenses are a part of judo, but only in pre-arranged forms (kata, 形) and are not allowed in judo competition or free practice (randori, 乱取り). A judo practitioner is called a judoka.

Tae Kwon Do - A Korean martial art. It combines combat and self-defense techniques with sport and exercise. Gyeorugi (pronounced [kjʌɾuɡi]), a type of sparring, has been an Olympic event since 2000. Taekwondo was developed by a variety of Korean masters during the 1940s as combination of Okinawan karate, Chinese martial arts, and the ancient Korean traditions taekkyeon and gwonbeop.

Max Fit - High intense cardio, strength and conditioning program designed for all levels of fitness from no experience to professional athletes for a full body workout. The program is composed of aerobic, resistance, flexibility, and plyometric training to enhance performance, fitness, speed, agility, explosiveness, and wellness.
At Rising Son you will find a perfect balance of experienced instructors, discipline, fun and an engaging training environment.
