This is a karate dojo located in Napa CA. I trained there for approx 2 years. They offer a mix of traditional karate and more modern grappling techniques (judo and some BJJ). The dojo is beautiful and traditional in appearance, with limited equipment (makiwara, mats, some bags, grappling dummy). Instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable. The main instructor there, apart from the owner, is a 2nd dan in karate who also has extensive experience in judo. He's really excellent with kids. Groups are usually about 6-10 people, so you can expect individual attention each class. There are belt tests once a student has completed required amount of training. Physical training and conditioning is moderate intensity, certainly more than say aikido but not at the level of Muy Thai or MMA. People interested in MMA and realistic training may be disappointed; there is very little sparring conducted there. Training consists mostly of drills, sometimes with light resistance.
