If you're serious on learning Okinawan Yamani-Ryuu & Shorin-Ryuu Karate and Kobujutsu, I highly recommend Oshiro Dojo. Shihan Toshiro Oshiro has been teaching this style of Karate for over 20+ years, and he's in the top tiers of Okinawan martial arts. Progression takes time, and you must have patience in order to proceed in belt. I've been studying at this dojo for little over 6 years, and it has helped me learn how to defend myself, defend others, and to have extreme discipline. It's a little costly compared to other dojo's around the area, but is well worth every penny. The Shihan has dojo's around the world, including Germany, Spain, New York, California, Japan, and Hawaii, and travels often to maintain them. It may not be for everyone, but it's a good place to start. Kids and adults, both.
