Staten Island doesn’t smell anymore since bassano moved to Pennsylvania.

His gi smells. Goes out of his way to convince people to join his dojo and no one else’s.

Over the years I have had four children take judo with John Bassano and if there is anyone who has their heart in judo it is John. I can't say enough how much my kids benefited from his classes. Confidence was among the first things as well as discipline and patients. These traits have carried through to adulthood. My youngest still attends but it is sporadic because of work and such. All talk about joining again because they miss it. I highly recommend it and stick with it. You will be happy.

Excellent, traditional Kodokan Judo, taught by Sensei Bassano who has been teaching for over forty years. If you're looking for traditional Judo, NY Dojo is amongst the best! You'll always get a good class with a great bunch of hard working, dedicated students.

Training with Sensei Bassano for the past 7 years has been an experience that I would not trade for anything. I earned my black belt under his instruction and have the best training partners around.
