Tri-Valley Karate Pleasanton (Goju Ryu)
We are one of the few traditional martial arts schools that maintain the principles and values of the art.
We incorporate some yoga stretches to warm up and cool down, kick, punch, throw, take down, kata (forms), kumite (sparring), and regardless of the class or people we maintain much respect towards the dojo and everyone we train with.
Each class begins and ends with a bow and meditation to clear the mind and prepare it for training.
Martial Art Styles
The following Martial Arts Styles are offered at Tri-Valley Karate Pleasanton (Goju Ryu):
- Goju Ryu Karate
- Jiu-Jitsu (Jujutsu/Jujitsu)
- Judo
- Tae Kwon Do
Programs & Class Schedule
We are a traditional dojo focusing on getting adults in and keeping them in shape. Unlike other martial arts, we focus on one area flexibility at the beginning and then more at the end.
As we age, we tend to lose flexibility and are prone to injuries; by maintaining and increasing our flexibility we keep the body limber, and you just might be able to do that head kick you never though you would be able to do.
Yoga postures, Olympic drills, modern science are all incorporated to get the most out of every session.
*Shito Ryu , Shotokan karate, Uechi Ryu (sister style to Goju Ryu), Tae Kwon Do, Judo, are not taught here, but with over 25 years of training and working with individuals of those styles their difference and similarities are understood so if one wants a place to just train this is possible, or if someone wants to commit to Goju Ryu, we make it all possible.
Karate begins and ends with respect.
Train your MIND, BODY, and SPIRIT.
Never give up. Keep Trying.
Try your best to improve who you were yesterday.
This is karatedo.
This is Goju Ryu.
